Amber laughed and strapped up the harness on her seat. Both of the
seats had acces to a navigation controll pannel and a wepons pannel.
The first navigation control pannel was scanners and comm equiptment
with some auxilery thruster controlls. The second had full access to
the engines and guidance equiptment. The wepons pannels were
identical. Both pilots had headsets to wear.
"One of the Navigation lot probably fell asleep on the controlls
again, it's just the engines starting up. If it were an invasion of
the Dwarf we would know. Buckle up Johnny i'm not gonna go easy on
this ship. Oh and if anyone asks, i never flw her." Johnny nodded and
fumbled with the straps. Amber started the engines and guided the
ship out of the hanger, when they were safely away from the Dwarf
Amber pushed the throttle up to full power, which caused her and
Johnny to be pushed back into their seats. Amber barrel rolled left
then right avoiding several other craft before aiming the Demon at
the atmosphere. It sailed effortlessly through the thin air into
space with non of the usual turbulance. Amber whooped with delight.
"YEAH! This ship can move. The stabalisers are amazing and the
thrusters... woah. This is an amazing ship Johnny i'm not even gonna
ask where you nicked it from." Johnny opened his mouth to protest bt
Amber pulled the ship into a loop the loop before he could say, he
tightened the straps on the harness as amber flipped the ship upside
down and dived back down through the atmosphere.
"Hey, what does this button do?" Johnny said pressing a button
slihtly different from the rest on his pannel. The wepons stations
glided away from the navigation controlls and stopped out of the way
against the back wall behing the pilots. Johnny pressed the button
again and the controls glided back again.
"Hey! Thats cool." Amber said guiding the ship into a fake nose
dive as if the ship were going to crash. The ship shot downwards
towards the ocean bellow. Johnny nnoticed the fast aproaching ocean
slightly before Amber did, he punched the comms button and sent out a
mayday signal to any Aeron or Blue Dwarf ships that were listening.
"Mayday mayday! we are going to crash into the ocean." Johnny said
in a panicky voice. Amber laughed manically and pulled hard on the
controlls the ship leveled out and skimmed the surface of the
ocean. "Actually, cancel that, we pulled up ok." Johnny looked at
Amber and wondered who had taught her to fly so well. A shark like
creature jumped out of the ocean cauing Amber to swerve.
"HOLY SMEG!" Amber yelled wresteling with the ship for Controll.
The wingtip caught the ocean surface and the Demon nose dived below
the surface before Amber or Johnny could do anything about it.
"Were gonna die!" Johnny yelled as the ship floated below the
surface. Amber however had gone silent and was watching her controll
pannel and the readout on the screen that had popped down from her
headset.
"No, Johnny, look at the heaset readout and your controo pannel.
The ship has automatically shifted into ocean mode." Johnny noticed
and looked at his scanners, loks like we are gonna get a chance to
use these wepond for real, six enemy ships at three o'clock.!"
