Keto sighed as he glanced up at Assistant Medical Officer Joshua
Ventrite, who wordlessly grinned and placed another stack of papers
on Keto's desk.
Keto shook his head as he rifled through the papers - medical
reports on Drusilla Belladonna, Steve MAckEnzyyyyyyy and now Zack
Jarvis.
All had complained of pains, numbness, rashes and, on some
occasions, hallucinations. Dr Keto ignored all this, however, after
he got hold of the old medical reports and found that NOT A SINGLE
ONE HAD OINTMENT RECORDS!
Not even a hint of effective ointmental treatments lay in these
reports. Forget rashes, pains and hallucinations, this was serious!
He needed to find out which ointment immune systems the crewmembers
of this ship possessed and fast! Why, absolutely anything could
strike on a ship without proper...
Dr Keto's thoughts were interrupted as he heard a strange sound
coming from the corridor outside the medical office. Frowning, he
stood up and walked over to the door, opening it.
Directly outside his office door bounced a big, pink palm tree.
Keto stared at it, watching the leaves wave up and down as the thing
just calmly bounced outside his door. Then, silently, he closed it
and walked back to his desk.
"Note to self:" he wrote on one of his small pieces of sticky
paper, "Possible hallucinogenic reality incursions into Blue Dwarf
space-time matrix. Recommend placing large amounts of ointment on
reality..."
He hesitated. This could, in fact, be quite dangerous. That in
mind, he added a PS:
"PS: May require..." he breathed deeply, "the Ointment."
Making sure that the capital O on ointment was clearly noticeable,
Dr Keto moved back to the reports. Gradually, the noise of the
bouncing tree outside faded away.
After all, it was only a hallucinogenic reality incursion...
