Adventures of a little man in a little world
OOC- youve done it now, no ones posted for ages, so IM gonna have to
get us going... witht the help of our little ninja friend.... oh and
dont argue, i very (quite) clearly (obscurely mentioned) that he was
small, its in my last post... now worries, just... ah hell

When: Fook knows
<clip>
"It doesn't matter now, all that matters is that the arms are fixed"
Canazza
interjected
"Can I have my ball back?" Seymour asked timidly
"no, it's holding the systems in place, i wouldn't remove it"
"oh balls" Seymour said, "Anyone up for bridge?" he pulled out a deck
of
cards, "Phil, you sit infront of the mirror"
<end clip>
Keats sat at the back of the room with the miniscule figurine of Jack
on his shoulder, who presently was randomly shouting profanaties at
him. He watched Seymour carefully deal out the cards, smiling as he
passed on to phil. Keats stood up 'Yo, Dave, hows the reapirs doing?'
Canazza stood up and stretched his back 'not going well, the snooker'
Seymours head span round and glared at Dave, his eyes momentarilly
flared with fire 'the billiard ball fixed the arms, which means we
should be able to patch up Deans stomach lining... but after that, i
dunno how were gonna patch up the navigation systems, i could do it,
but.. itd take far to long and there no way im diving into all the
crap in there' he waved an arm at the navigation system randomly, as
if in reply, it fizzled worringly.
Keats walked forward meaningfully. The ambassidor seemed to be happy
at he moment, well, stable at least, hopefully. Keats went to the
back of the room and sat down again. He withdrew the 'Quicky' and
took a large mouthful 'This is gonna be one hell of a trip' He put
his head back. Something tapped on his nose, Keats opened up one eye
and saw a miniture Jack pounding his nostrels with his fists. John
strained his eyes to look at him, Jack looked up and started randomly
tapping his ear. 'Ummm, ok...' Phil turned around, exposing his cards
momentraily to the rest of the table. 'Hey... that... is it..' Phils
eyes were locked on Johns hip flask that was lying discarded on his
stomach. Keats glanced down, and glanced up, he made an effort to
move aside as Phil dived onto him. His cards were lying across the
floor and table, a well dressed man palmed one... Keats made a vague
attempt to cover himself as Phil tore the 'Quicky' from him, and
proceeded to take many large mouthfuls.. 'Alcohol, sweat alcohol,
best friend and secret lover...' then, remembering his wife was ALSO
in the room 'ahhh, metaphorically...' something stabbed him. 'WHAT
THE!' Phil concentrated on a little figure as it jumped to the
relative safety of a top pocket, Keats barely made out a little voice
crying 'AWAY!!!' Keats stood up and snatched the Quicky from the
confused Phil, it travelled by itself to his top pocket where a
little snigger could be heard. Phil took a step back carefully and
sat back down, glaring over his shoulder every so often.
After much struggling, Jack had made his way upto Keats shoulder,
drawing a deep breath he shouted, well, after the swearing, he
shouted 'Yo Keats! I can help, trust me here!' <Draws breath> 'send
me into the Navigation computer, Use the' <Breath> 'Nanos in me to
tell me what to do, worth a shot ay?' Keats looked at his
shoulder, 'you know what, you might just be right' Keto put down his
cards, and made a few notes and chuckled to himself, sighed, and
picked up his cards again. Jay was idly moving the flying stick
around with an open expression, Keats put his hand on his
shoulder 'Dont worry man, we'l soon have you driving again, i got an
idea, do we have any comunication devices'? Jay noded and fumbled a
small Walkie-Talkie to Keats 'Hey, Dave, you got a minute, we might
just be able to get this rig flying again...'
fifteen minutes later
'Annnd there, what you got in mind boy' He handed the Walkie talkie
to Keats, now modifed for direct burst transmission. He twidled the
dial to 'D140.16' 'Jack, you reading me?' silence... 'Jack..?' There
was a crackle 'Damn it man, you really gotta sort out your
washing...' Keats smiled, 'Heres our way out guys..' He handed the
device to Dave 'You rekon you can explain to Jack here how to fix the
Navi-comp from inside, hes got the tools. Jacks leaped off Keats
shoulders, poured a small amount of the contents from the 'Quicky'
into a mini-flask and crept in via one of the cracks. Dave got on his
knees and shone a torch into another hole a looked in. It was a mess
of wires, mostly they were fine, a few split, and some bits and
pieces dangling down. 'Right then, this is gonna be tough, but....
find the main Power Capacitor... uhhh, its a black thing, on a
circuit board, there! far side, with the red light'. Jack looked
around, it was almost as bad as the botanical garden on the
dwarf. 'Seen it, ok, Capacitor... numbers 1 through 1265...' Dave
thought... he consulted a report print out from the damage
report. 'Numbers 450 to 457 are out, i have spares, can you solder?'
there was a pause.. 'Umm, i can try, got any tools?' They all looked
at one another, most of the people were now crowding around the
computer, Jay was still in his seat. 'Anyone smoke'? suggested Dave a
lighter was passed forward, dave set it to intense flame, and handed
it to Jack, he got to work. Minutes later, the lights on the
computer started blinking again. 'Right, good now, for the rest of
the system....' He unravelled a large piece of paper. There was a
general sigh... 'Dont worry,' splutterd the Walkie Talkie 'i aint got
much better to do.
probably 2 hours later, maybe more...
'Right then, wires in place? yes? good, Air con? good, finally, main
test, thanks Jack' Jack stepped back and smiled, tho no-one could see
him. Dave Stepped back, closed his eyes and activated the console..
nothing.... then, a whir of power. The ship jumped forward and
stopped again. there was silence, well, no-one was talking. Then, a
friendly sound emerged, the engines started up... Jay smiled, and i
MEAN smiled...
