then." Kara smiled.

Efof looked shocked and dropped the stick he was shaking, and also
his jaw.
"Wow, I didnt think human women would be this forward!!! You want to
have coffee? Have you ever made coffee with a Ffionian before? No I
suppose you've not met any before... as we did die out 1000 years
ago"
Efof was momentarily phased, but not for any more than a nanosecond.
He bounded into Karas quarters and leaped onto her bed.
"Okay, lets make coffee right now baby!"
Kara lifted an eyebrow. "Um, Efof you do know that coffee is a drink
dont you?"
Efofs eyes widened gradually as his brain processed the information
slowly, so the process of him realising he had made a complete and
utter tit of himself was a slow one. It gradually dawned on him.
"Coffee? Its a drink? um... ahh. yes of course I knew that!!! I just
got mixed up in the translation, its very similar to a word in
Ffionian.. which means to um... well it means to um..."
Kara laughed. "Dont worry, I can guess what it means!"
Efof looked at the position he had adopted on the bed and blushed a
deep bluish colour. "No, it doesnt mean that! Dont think that I was
expecting... that I was trying to... that you and I should... um..
it means... it means..." He was pulling at the bedcovers in
fustration.
"It means to appreciate good quality bed linen! Yes yes, thats what
it means, we do that all the time back on Ffion... well did... it
was kind of a social thing yes, um we'd all get together and talk
about douvets, sheets and sometimes..."
"Quilts?" Hazzared Kara, going along to feed Efofs embarassment.
"Ooh yes, I love a good quilt!" Efof said, edging towards the door.
"Haha, you've been spending too much time with that Seymour!"
"Yes, well I have to go! Busy with navigation and all that..." Efof
walked out of the door.
"Hang on a minute there sparky!" Kara called him back. "About that
date, what about tomorrow at 7? See if you can book us a good
restuarant" she smiled at him quite sweetly. Efof smiled back but
looked away in embarassment.
This was the guy who had multiple girlfriends back on Ffion as their
society allowed it, and even frowned upon someone with just the one
partner- but actually Efif was very shy, and the girlfriends had
either been friends or they had been brought up together, intriduced
by parents at an early age. This concept of human dating was very
wierd to him.
He walked in a daze and found himself on the promenade which was
looking a little singed. Although there was an interesting new
development...
