Meanwhile, back in spaceAs the last defense station that was freezing the Blue Dwarf blew up, andthe pilots flew back into the shutle pods, and Dean made an escape from theplanet with a hijacked shuttle, the second Blue Dwarf oved close to thefirst Blue Dwarf. In front of the two ships, a wormhole opened up, as thewormhole drive on the second Blue Dwarf activated. Then, the two Dwarfsmoved through the wormhole to an unknown location in space (unknown to theEvil Empire that is, it was known to the crew of the second Blue Dwarf,because it wasn't, they wouldn't be going there, right?), followed by Dean.<End snip>
 
"What the hell just happened?" Alota said still staring out the viewport at the second blue dwarf, if it WAS the Blue Dwarf, the entire ship seemed to have been modified, the engines extended from the aft section of the hull like enormous nuclear cooling towers, and the whole craft seemed to have had endless weapons added to it, add to that it had a mean paint job done. Either Dwarfstar class ships had been a refit she didn't know about, or Jay had been given a spanner. 
"Jay don't get comfy" Phil said into the internal comm as the pilots were touching down in the shuttlebays "We're gonna go say Hi to the neighbours....."
 
A few minutes later the Phoenix, resotred to its former glory by the temporal re-alignment, well almost, Jay could have sworn his seat had been adjusted. Alota, Phil, Mini-Phil and Tara were aboard, along with Jay who was piloting, although Alota was begining to regret leaving Dean in charge already, having heard the crunch of badly-changed gears grinding through the Blue Dwarf just before the Phoenix took off.
 
 "Look at that...." Jay said looking out of the cockpit glass as the custom Midget touched down, "These guy's have got more fighters that a standard Space Corp Battleship....and there like nothing I've ever seen"
He gazed in awe, as the handful of Blue Dwarf crew walked down the gangplank. "I'd love get my hands on one of those baby's twin ION engines...heavy duty plasma cannons....its even got one of those little red balls on the aerial to help find it in a car park!"
"Impressive eh?" came the voice of Rio Lomaz as she greeted them in the shuttlebay, she didnt seem the fun loving, easy going Rio that Jay knew so well as his staff member, she was dressed in combat gear, and carried a near arsenal of weapons in the form of handguns and combat knives all over her person, she looked, almost battle hardened.
"Lomaz?" Alota asked. "Dean's theory was right then....." she thought about what she'd just said "Jay honey...you don't think I'm insane do you?"
"No more than usual..."
"What?"
"Uh..no of course not!" Jay said laying a reassuring hand on Alotas shoulder, at which point  Lomaz seemingly confused asked. "What theory was that?, Cos' weve no idea where you guys came from!"
"Lt Thomas thinks that we've slipped sideways in time" Phil explained "And so far it seems a sound theory"
"Well.." said Rio "The science aint really my field, I just fly the fighters"
"So..." said Tara "Whats the situation here? Whats with the weapons platforms around Earth? and the Blue Dwarf looking like somekind of Warship? and the Death Jar? And Pluto being missing?"
"Woah woah woah! Easy Rookie!" Lomaz said.
"Rookie?" Tara said quietly to Phil
"I'm just here to take you guy's to the conference room to meet the guys who run this rust bucket, but if we go to Red Alert just lay low, you've probably already figured out that the Empire thinks of us as criminals...why is it you fight to restore peace and get branded a terrorist?" 
"So..you're some kind of rebel faction?" Jay asked "Explains alot..."
"Yeh well...call it what you will" Rio said "Come on, follow me"
