Split personality (circuits)

WHO: The Keto-Brain-Bot (KBB), Elwood, WD-40 and Timmy --- obviously
the oil thirsty mechanised monsters of outer space... raah and stuff.
WHERE: One of the more colourful / intact Starbugs, nestled in one of
the Green December's landing bays.
WHEN: I would tell you, but someone has pasted wallpaper over the
clock.
WHY: Because I've found some time in my busy schedule.
WHAT: I'm a student... only for another week though. Yikes, deadlines.

The prospect of giving 4 reasonably individual robots access to a
spacecraft, several cubic miles of spare parts, and allotting them
too much free time could never result in anything good.
As it was, the posse had initially started repairing the Starbug that
had delivered them from the Blue Dwarf's destruction... but somewhere
along the line, Elwood had suggested that they make it their own.
Almost a day after the comment, the robots were still working. All of
them had avoided any recharging sessions so that the other machines
wouldn't get an exploitative advantage.
You see, each of the droids had completely different ideas concerning
the overall appearance and function of the Starbug.
Elwood harked back to his extensive memory of nearly every car chase
in film history, and was painting the spacecraft so that it was a
tasteless parody of 'The Dukes of Hazzard', 'The Blues
Brothers', 'The Fast and the Furious' and several other driving
classics (probably starting with 'The'). He'd also tweaked the reheat
setting by 300% and made the 'Bug more susceptible to 'powersliding'
and 'wheelies'.
Timmy, on the other hand, was determined to turn the vehicle into his
own personal pimping palace. Every one of the seats on board were now
covered in thick leopard-fur and were equipped with a 'vibrate'
control. Also, each of the Starbug's landing legs now had hydraulic
pistons that bounced in time to the huge sound system that took up
most of the rear section.
WD-40 was adamant that a 'softly softly' approach was more effective,
and had redecorated most of the interior walls with beautiful floral
shades and a thick shag-pile carpet. Spare wall and floor space had
been taken up by genuine works of art, ranging from a detailed pseudo
marble sculpture of the entire Blue Dwarf crew to a few little frilly
drink-mats on the polished wood-imitation cockpit panels.
Coming from the field of medicine, the KBB had made it his job to
deal with the safety aspects of any journey. Several huge warning
lights had appeared around the exterior of the Starbug, along with
information stickers concerning the craft's highest cruising speed
and its relative wideness. Secreted about the interior, dozens of
airbags and reams of safety webbing waited to spring out and save
lives should the unthinkable happen.
Presently, Timmy was reinforcing the sub-woofers in their housings,
Elwood was giving the middle section some speed stripes, KBB was
attaching a vast bullbar to the nosecone, and WD-40 was wiring in the
final few Ikea uplighters.
((and that's all I can think of at the moment. But I posted at least!
Greets to everyone new... I don't always control the robotic quartet,
but I have to keep 'em involved))
