When:- about half an hour after 'the plan'
"Ok..see!" Rufus said, folding up his blueprint, and gesturing at an
elaborate set up set up across the tops of cliffs. "It's simple,
Cannon spots Eve and stops, then, Jay pushes the boulder off the
cliff, onto the see-saw, which flips the Anvil onto the cliff ledge,
knocking the bowling ball onto the runner, where it rolls down and
set's the scale's off balance, liftihn the other end up so that the
candle burns through the rope and releases the cage! GENIUS!"
"You really do take after your father.." Kara muttered.
"THANKS!"
"Wasn't a compliment"
"How do we know this is gonna work anyway?" asked Eve.
"Of course it will work, I came up with it!" Rufus said "He'll see
you and is bound to stop, the rest is just down to timing"
"how do we know he'll stop?!" Eve asked again
"If he doenst stop with Eve looking like that he's either blind or
gay!" said Jay "Besides, this is a cartoon remember!"
"HEADS UP!" Amber shouted, rocketing over at high speed, "He's
coming!"
"Ok everyone take your positions!" Rufus ordered.
Jay, Eve, Kara, Phil and Amber folded their arms and stared at him.
".....please?!..."
Eve took her place at the roadside while Jay using Bender's
extendable legs climbed to the top of a high flat-topped mountain
where Rufus had laid a large boulder used to trigger his trap.
Sure enough, Cannon, skidded to halt next to Eve, eyes extendned a
good 12 feet from his head
"And you were worried.." Rufus muttered to Phil,
"What do ya mean were?!" Phil pointed out
"whatever, NOW JAY!"
With that Jay pushed the boulder from the clifftop, it hurtled
groundward, triggering the see-saw, and setting off the rest of the
trap in sequence, the cage fell, sending dust billowing upwards.
When it cleared Cannon was nowhere in site, and in the cage, stood a
very unimpressed Eve Rimmer.
"Nice one Ruf...nice one..." she muttered.
The anvil, that had been launched upward by Jay's boulder fell back
to where it began, sending the boulder skyward once more, Jay,
standing atop the cliff swigging from a beer bottle, noticed a large
black shadow looming over him, gazing upward, he saw the boulder.
"Im boned..."
