Lift-like-Luck

White Wolfs voice came over the comm. "Jay..come to the drive room, we're entering orbit of the Hymenoptera homeworld within the hour" 
"On my way" he replied
"Oh.." asked White Wolf "Is Dean with you?"
"Yeh..why?"
"Can you tell him Cannons asking for him?"
<END SNIP>
"No, I'll tell him myself." said Cannon, coming out of the shadows by the door.
"Jees." said Dean, "I thought only Niples could do that." <for more info go back 2 of my posts>
"Well, you were wrong. Come with me back to my office, I want you to explain a few things to me."
"I'd rather not." said Dean.
"Dean, just go." said Jay, looking back as he walked through the exit.
"Alright, alright..." Dean muttered, and he followed Cannon out of the door.
 
As they stood in the lift, (the "X-press Lift" was broken) and watched the numbers going up, Dean said:
"You know, isn't it funny, that in elevators everyone always stands and stares at the numbers?"
<THUD>
"OW! Ok, maybe it isn't funny, but still, it's slightly odd."
<THWACK>
"OW! Ok, it's not even funny, it, just.....is."
<BONK>
"OK! I'll shut up, I get it."
 
 
 
 
"You know, I'm pretty sure that was our floor."
<KERPLUNK>
"I could be mistaken though."
 
 
 
 
"Great, now the lights have gone, why can I hear the wind whistling?"
"The cable has snapped and the brakes have, ironically, broke."
"What, they run out of money?"
<THUD>
"No, they stopped working." said Cannon, sighing
"Ah, like Jay after....well, ever really."
"That about sums it up, he was the crummiest CNO I ever had to command."
"Wasn't Kayn you're CNO?"
"Kayn? Kayn who?"
"Kayn Bestrom."
"Erm.. yes, yes, of course he was." Cannon looked around before hitting Dean again.
"OW! We're falling to our deaths and you STILL hit me?"
"Well, we've got several hundred floors to fall, so it makes it go faster."
"Ah"
"Of course, we could stop this fall.""How?" asked Dean.
"Pull the emergency stop lever."
"Now that IS cunnning. Is this it?"
"OW!" yelled Cannon. "NO! That's my leg!"
"My mistake." said Dean, before pulling the correct lever. "So, what did you want to talk to me about?"
"Forget it, just never come near me again."
"I can do that."
<THUD>
"OW! I meant, yes sir." said Dean.
 
 
 
"Erm... how do we open the doors on this thing?"
<THWACK>
Cannon had hit Dean once again. "The emergency door open lever." Cannon said, pointing.
Dean pulled the lever with all his might. "Heh, not so smart now are you Captain Know-It-All?"
"It's a push lever." said Cannon, bashing his head off the wall.
Dean pushed. The doors opened at the living quarters level.
"Well, been nice meeting you sir." said Dean, leaving...
