Ohmigod...Kayn a mechanical wonder/blunder?

Must be 10:00am - Teletubbies just started :)
Kayn was playing some very old dog-fight games. Having experienced the real thing with his many excursions with starbug he was very, very bored of these.
He was also not allowed to fly another starbug in a mission lest he violate Space Corp Directive #912 - unless he wanted to cut back on coffee he was grounded.
Then it hit him...he didn't have to fly starbug to fly. He wondred what he could fly. Blue Midgets were too large for the type of close fighting situations he wanted to be in, and Nipels wouldn't let anyone bar members of the opposite sex near his Space Eagle. The pay he was getting couldn't get a cheap flat in Bognor Regis and there were no second-hand-fighter-space-ships-markets for two light years
Then it hit him - He'd MAKE his own ship! There was enough debris laying about outside the ship now that they had found that duct tape was as good a substitute for walls as anything else. Steev and Smegg made engineering look simple even to Kayn's teenage standards, Kierren could teach him how to fly - properly...Kayn smiled and went crazy.
He took a blue midget and started collecting scrap. The Blue Midget was well adapted to this task - using the feet to puncture the scrap and drag it back to the newly formed scrap pile in the now empty beer stores. Whilst everyone regrouped and repaired the dwarf, he could make and fly his new toy. To get in the air - it would be bliss - and not having to bother about space corps directives...
He was one step towards his dream of flight...
And this would be no poncey starbug - he'd have everything from gattling guns to lasercannons mounted onto the sides and panels of his ship. He could even leave Blue altogether! He could tour the galaxy fighting for wars...
He found it better just to stick with just making his first ship fly...better safe than heavy...

Engineering
Steev's head buzzed when he saw the thirty wheelbarrows of trash and metal that were stocked outside his office. Kayn was standing next to them and said the following words
"Make me a spaceship"
Steev smiled and handed Kayn a library of books. One was titled 'Welding for smegheads', another 'Make yourself a Starbug in nine easy steps' and 'So You want to make a battlecruiser but don't know how to weld'.
Kayn went to the drive room and started reading. Steev was busy recycling all the trash scrap and was drawing performance calculations - finally something that will give him a small challenge!
Kayn started reading the first chapter of the 'Make yourself a starbug' book
1) Pick up a hammer....
(OOC - Why not? It could be fun - and unless mr onion disallows it completely, this is Kayn's christmas present!)
