OOC-This one's long, people. Sorry, but this is the last I'll be posting for
a bit until the right time to continue comes up.

Where: The shuttle
Who: Katrina
When: Sometime after take-off
-----------------------------
When it seemed the shuttle was clear of any danger, the pilots uncloaked and
began to cruise at a leisurely pace. Katrina had given them strict
instructions and one had been to not race back to Earth. Though she needed to
get away from Blue Dwarf, she was in no real hurry to get back to Bucketville
Maine.
A stewardess -sorry- flight attendant came down the aisle with a cart and
offered Katrina a glass of champagne, which she accepted. She downed it in
one gulp and asked for another. She had payed good money for this trip and
she planned on getting drunker than she ever remembered.
I remember when I got drunk with Tara, she thought as she downed her fourth
glass. That was fun. Didn't I wake up naked later? Oh, I should have stayed
with Seymour. I shouldn't have made such impossible demands. I should have
made a compromise with him. I'm such a fool and now it's too late.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking," a voice came over the
intercom.
Katrina looked around. She was the only passenger. Just her and two flight
attendants.
"I'd like to thank you for flying Ultra-Posh Shuttleways. We should be
arriving at our destination in just under six hours time. Now, if you'll look
to your right, you'll see empty, dark space."
Katrina didn't look. She had enough empty, dark space in her life right now.
She could never see what they pointed out, anyway.
"And if you look to your left, you'll see-what is that?" the pilot gasped.
This caught Katrina's attention. She pulled her sixth glass away from her
lips and stood to look out the left side windows. She didn't get the chance.
There was a crash and she was thrown about three rows up. She felt her
injured leg twist into a very bad angle. The flight attendants screamed. The
drinks cart rolled up the aisle and slammed into the cockpit door.
"Activate the cloak!" the pilot yelled. He must have forgotten the intercom
was still on.
"Too late!" another voice yelped. "They've snared us."
Katrina pushed herself up and dragged herself to the windows. There was a
ship, grey and battered, outside with some kind of line extended from the
nose. The other end of the line must have been stuck in the shuttle's hull.
Suddenly, there was an eerie hiss. Katrina looked up and saw something white
drifting out of the air vents. It was coming at her quick.
"They've hit the airconditioning system!" came over the intercom.
Katrina felt very sleepy. Yes, sleep good. She hit the floor hard, closing
her eyes.
----------------------------------
"Wake up!" came an impatient voice into Katrina's head. "Wake up and face
your worst nightmare."
Katrina opened her eyes. Everything was white at first and began to focus.
She didn't know where she was. Surley not the shuttle. And someone was
leaning over her.
"Welcome back, blondie," the voice continued. It belonged to the someone
standing over her. "You were out longer than I expected. A few too many
drinks, I suppose."
As the someone pulled back, Katrina recognized her. Black hair and blue eyes.
"Dark Katrina," she breathed. "I thought you were dead."
Katrina Swete, the dark one, had come from a parallel dimension. She'd been a
security officer for the Red Dwarf with the insane Captain David Lister who
tried to take over the Blue Dwarf. But Captain Lister had been killed by DK
herself after he killed Hollister. She'd then taken advantage of Seymour when
he had lost his memory and told him they were dating. When Seymour got his
memory back, he had to rescue the right one from the wrong one and DK had
been sucked into a wormhole as a result.
"No, I'm not dead." Dark Katrina grinned. "I made it through the wormhole
fine, and just before I ran out of air, these fine gentlemen picked me up."
She gestured to a small group of old-fashioned looking pirates that stood
around the two of them. "We've been looting any ship that comes by us that we
know we can take. You know, generally keeping a low profile."
Katrina sat up on her elbows. "Where's the shuttle and its crew?"
DK waved her hand. "Let them go after we swiped a few bottles of champagne.
But you, yes you, are the most important of what we swiped. You, miss
girlfriend of the Blue Dwarf's captain are-"
"I'm not," Katrina interrupted dangerously.
"What?"
"I broke up with Seymour," Katrina explained. "And he's not even captain
anymore. So I'm pretty damn useless to you now."
DK frowned deeply. Her cohorts seemed to understand and all groaned. "Now
what do we do?" they asked her. It seemed she had become their leader.
"Flush her into space!" DK growled. "Get her out of my sight."
Several men pulled regular Katrina to her feet and started to drag her away.
"Wait! Wait!" Katrina shouted to her double. "I want to help you!"
DK motioned her hand and the men stopped pulling Katrina. "Help me what?"
"Get revenge on Seymour."
DK went over to her blond double and stared incredulously at her. "Really?
Why?"
"Because he chose his job over me when I would have given up everything for
him. In fact, I have even though we broke up. Quit my job and left the JMC
altogether, leaving me with nothing," Katrina explained. "He deserves to be
punished." She was absolutely serious.
Dark Katrina raised an eyebrow, smiling. Motioning her hand again, the men
let go of regular Katrina and DK put an arm around her. "Then, my friend, you
are our most important swipe yet." She started to lead the other off. She
noticed the limp. "Where'd you get that?"
"England. Giant robot spiders," Katrina said. "Seymour's fault, if you ask
me. Another thing he deserves to be punished for."
