Red Alert Boogie
Who: Sydra, Eve Where: living quarters, BD corridors When: RED ALERT  < snippety snip >  Retrieving her cigarette from its place in the ashtray, Sydra sat down and gestured to Eve to do likewise. Not knowing quite what to say, Syd thought for a moment. She realized a horn might be a nice addition, it might add a nice ska sound to her rhythms. Fairly pleased with that prospect, however still none too thrilled at the idea of having to play 'hostess,' as the case may be. Clearing her throat, Sydra glanced over at Eve and asked with restraint, "So... any requests?" < end snip > Just as Sydra posed her question, Alota's voice was heard over the loudspeaker. "RED ALERT, we are under attack, all Pilots SCRAMBLE, repeat SCRAMBLE!" Inwardly breathing a sigh of relief, Syd stubbed out her cigarette and glanced at Eve awkwardly, "Well, I guess our 'jam session' will have to be postponed... I should probably make like an atom and split." Not waiting for a response, Sydra made a hasty retreat leaving Eve and Ares behind. "Talk about 'saved by the bell'," Syd mumbled as she exited. She hoped she didn't seem rude, but Sydra was more content with her speedy exit than she would have been trying to make friends. Although she sometimes wished she had someone to jam with, it was sort of a conflict of interests. Her reclusive ways left little room for mates. Sighing, Syd headed to security. As she walked along the corridors, it was apparent that some of the crew were, to say the least, a bit nervous. "And well they should be," Syd thought to herself. If her assumptions were correct, there was reason for panic. As the tension in the air grew, Sydra contemplated how smoothly things might run if only the crew had no fears... although it could also have detrimental side affects if applied to the wrong individuals. While  a fearless crew might be an optimal idea, Sydra sighed and thought to herself, "Better not..." as she realized it would probably cause more harm than good... "Perhaps if..." Sydra said aloud, but then trailed off as she immidiately dismissed any idea of proving her theory. Attempting to avert her attention from her brilliant theory and the tension that swirled about her like a dense fog, once again her defense mechanism kicked in... *Bless me dark father I have sinned I've done it before and I'll do it again Cuz it keeps me warm, and makes you smile Been beneath me all the while Hell yes* Much to Syd's delight and surprise, everyone seemed far to excited to notice her lyrical outburst. (OOC: short, i know. however, creativity hasn't been quite my strong suit as of late.... and with the realization that i tagged Eve at the end of my last post, no worries in responding to the tag, as i don't feel we should be sitting about singing songs in the middle of a red alert... as much as i would like to *grin*)
