Into the chaos pt2

Cain and the other security in black
Unknown location
The group turned towards a large screen that lit up lighting in the
darkened room. On it appeared a star map.
"Hundreds of worlds destroyed." One of the security in black said.
On the screen a series of planets were crossed out with a red X.
"Even a idiot can see the pattern here," The security said, "and
where it is heading."
Indeed was clear to see, the planets that were crossed out were all
in the same wide path coming from unknown space. One of the planets
that happened to be in the path of destruction was Earth.
"The Blue Dwarf is here."
A blue dot appeared near a large cluster of crossed planets.
"There however there may be hope." A female member of the security
in black commented. "The wake of destruction is slow."
"How slow?" Cain enquired.
"Earth may be reached within a few hundred years." The female
spoke. "There is a lot of worlds between the current location of the
destruction and Earth."
"How can it be stopped?" Cain asked.
The screen changed from a star map to that of computer model of the
large solider bug encountered by the Blue Dwarf crew.
"That creature was encountered both times by the Blue Dwarf crew."
Another said.
The image shrunk down to half the screen and on the other half a
short video clip was played.
`They keep on coming… can't … them … oh my G…!'
The clip froze on a charge bug, Cain watched, as it was computer
enhanced. The bug did appear similar to the first one but it was
meaner looking and was covered in plate armour.
"The first creature was some past generation." A security in black
spoke. "This new creature is the latest generation by the same
strain. Smaller, quicker and even more deadly. The armour is so
good armour piecing and explosive rounds can't even damage it."
The screen then glowed into another video clip of a desert scene and
there was something moving below the sand.
"Before a strain we have only encountered not too long ago."
Something erupted from the sand; the video froze looking down the
throat behind a large beak.
"We were lucky to get a hold of that video footage. While all
strains encountered before are ground or air dwellers, this worm-like
strain moves underground and like our last subject has the same plate
armour. Combine that with it travelling underground it has proven
impossible to kill."
"The latest generations of all strains has this armour once they
reach adulthood." Another explained. "They must be blown apart from
the inside out or hacked to death."
"What of our toxins?" Cain enquired.
"They adapted to them." One informed. "They must have encountered a
foe with ranged weaponry and evolved the armour to defend themselves."
"We need a subject to examine, alive subject." The female spoke.
Cain felt a nasty sense of dread of what was to come next.
"We are all expendable Mr. Cain." The female added.
"Understood." Cain merely replied.
"Return to the Blue Dwarf and bring us a live subject." Another said.
"Yes sir." Cain commented then he took his leave.
**A hour later**
Cain watched from the Blue Midget cockpit as the Blue Dwarf came into
crew. The combat was still in full force.
"A live subject." Cain muttered drumming his fingers on the control
board.
The Midget came in to land.
