Waking up to some thing odd and strange

Kara woke up feeling a hangover immedatley get her. She clambered out of bed
and put her jacket on.
"Holly are ya there?"
"Yes."
"Do I have anything to do today?"
"Well you're supposed to be testing the Starbugs and whatever else happens."
"Thanks Hol."
"Anytime."
The computer faded out. Kara walked down the hallway and stopped at a
vending machine.
"Black coffee."
The vending machine hummed and nothing happened.
"By any chance do you remember what happened last time you didn't reply?"
The vending machine popped out the requested item. Kara took it and gave the
machine a kick.
"Stupid piece of smegging garbage."
She walked into the lift and sat down in a seat. The usual freaky in-lift
attendant gave the usual strange speech.
"Why does it have that stupid thing everytime it freaks me out. Why does
this ship have to be exactly like Red Dwarf?"
30 minutes later
The lift stopped at the docking bay and Kara stumbled out the door into the
bay. She looked around and no one was there.
"Awww for smeg's sake! This is some kinda twisted prank isn't it?!"
She kicked a nearby Starbug.
