I may be dead....
Kara sat down at the Parrot's bar. She looked around at the few crewmembers
hanging about.
"Losers." She thought.
Then one of the Jays walked over.
"Hey Kara what's up?"
"I know you're a clone. Everyone has told me so. I don't care unless you're
the original that I know best."
The clone backed away and re-joined the group of 'Losers'. She looked at the
ring on her hand and smiled as she remembered the times she used to have
with Lister, Jay, and her mates on the Red Dwarf. A bartender came up to
her.
"Anything for you ma'am?"
"Yeah. Wiskey straight."
"Yes ma'am."
The mechanoid slid her a pint of the requested drink. She took a drink and
set the glass down. The Jay she knew came in.
"How are you feeling today?"
"Oh fine I guess."
"Where have you been lately?"
"Exploring the ship, planet leave, you know the usual."
She picked up the pint and quickly chugged it down in one gulp. She then let
out a huge burp and everyone looked at her then returned to the normal
partying.
"Why are you drinking?"
"Cause I feel like it. By any chance are you still having trouble with the
vending machine?"
"No. I've been fine with that lately."
"Damn. I wanted to cuss out one of those suckers."
"Have anything planned today?"
"Yeah. Find Red Dwarf, find Lister, find a guy, risk me life in some stupid
pointless way."
"Sounds thrilling." Jay said in a sarcastic tone.
"I think people are avoiding me because I'm dead."
"Why?"
"I might freak them out." She turns to the group in the room. "Awww for
smeg's sake can't you people just get a grip?!"
The group starts sniggering at her. She throws the glass she was drinking
from on the ground shattering it to pieces. She starts to storm over but Jay
stops her.
"Why don't you settle down for a moment?"
"Fine." She points at the group. "What the smeg are you laughing at ehhh? I
can take the whole lot of ya! Just you wait!"
Jay sits her back down. She slams her fist on the bar.
"What's the problem?"
"I don't know. Everyone I pass either looks at me wierd or sniggers at me.
What is going on?"
