Jay stood in front of the pilot's lounge vending machine.
He'd just put the very last bit of loose change he had into the
machine, the
hook rolled, the Mars bar slid forward and caught, right on the edge
of the
wrapper, leaving it hanging precariously over the trap door ready to
fall.
He hit the machine.
He the machine harder.
He hit the machine a third time with both hands.
He kicked the machine,
He took a flying leap into the machine, the Mars bar stayed,
dangling in a
fashion that led Jay to believe the chocolate bar was taunting him,
as if it
was saying "Come you pansy, COME ON!!!!...you wanna eat me dont you,
COME
ON!!!"
Eventually, once the balls of Jays fists had become so bruised and
battered
he couldnt carry on anymore he gave up, leaning his head against the
machine
and sobbing, pathetically.
"Jay Chrysler!" came a familiar voice, that Jay hadnt heard in a
long time
from behind.
Spinning around he found himself face to face with a very welcome
face "Kara
McGellan, you mean YOU'RE the new pilot they assigned me?"
"Assigned to YOU?!" replied the hologram, "You mean they put a sky-
jockey like you in charge!?"
"Who else?!...." he shuddered at the thought of Dean in charge
"They told me about the crash" he said more solemnly this time "I'm
sorry I didnt get in touch"
"Hey dont worry, I heard you were busy getting hitched and taking
starships for swims!" she said smirking
"You had to bring that up!"
It was at this moment that Dean and amber emerged from the
respective male and female toilets, clutching plungers and wearing a
fetching set of marigolds each.
"Ah, guys, just in time." Jay said "This is Kara McGellan, shes
joining our team of 'elite's'...and Dean"
"you're pilots clean toilets?"
Jay said nothing just smirked.
"ok seeing as were all here, we gotta mission to fly"
He led the way into his office.
Kara, Dean and Amber watched the screen Jay was gesturing at.
"White Wolf is leading an assault team to spring the admiral from
the Amadeus jail, but we have another mission." he said
"Dean you and I are going to install some stealth equipment into a
starbug"
"stealth gear? whered you get that?" Dean asked
"Stole it from the Valkyrie before Kayn left......." Jay
replied "You're gonna fly near to the oil refinery, where I'm gonna
do a skydive to the ground and hijack one of their tanker shuttles"
"Kara, Amber you guys are gonna drop White wolfs teams off, then
come over to the refinery with the other pilots and provide an
escort for the me in the tanker, its slow, its sluggish and its
unarmed, without help I'll be blown apart in seconds."
They all nodded.
"We launch as soon as White Wolf gives the order, in the meantime,
take some time out, well not you guys" he said looking at Dean and
Amber. "Katrina has some jobs for you..."
