You\'ve Got Mail... (Part 6)

Who: Zodar

Zodar had been working hard to get the ship looking respectable since the extensive damage was caused, albeit by the dwarf’s own pilots.
The Jay clones had proven their worth in fixing the ship, not a scratch remained. For doing such a nice job, Chris thought of buying them all a beer at Parrott’s, but when he noticed how much money he had and how many of them there were, Chris was glad he hadn’t mentioned it to them…
That night, Zodar found it hard getting to sleep. He knew that in the morning the aliens would arrive and he’d have to make them feel at home and answer their questions. But this didn’t worry him much for he had nothing to hide. Well… almost nothing to hide, but that event was irrelevant.

< Zodar’s Quarters >

6:01am
Zodar, still sleeping had forgotten to plug his alarm clock in and so didn’t get up at 6:00 as he had planned.

6:46am
Still sleeping, time was fast getting away from the engineer. Chris rolled over and put his pillow over his head to block the starlight coming through the window, this had all become routine for Zodar.

7:59am
Officially into ‘sleep-in’ time now. Zodar is aware that the alarm didn’t go off, but he is still resting.
Suddenly he realises that he has to meet the royal party at 8:30am
As fast as lightning, Zodar wakes up from his eternal slumber and puts on a nearby jacket on his way to the door, but realising that he’s still wearing his JMC standard issue pyjamas, he races back to put something a bit more formal on.

8:25am
Chris emerges from his room, wearing a tuxedo. He hastily makes his way to the Docking bay in 5 minutes where he sits on a step waiting for the alien ship to arrive.

< Docking Bay >

Before long Chris could see a craft of some type out in the black distance. As it turned, it reflected the brilliant light from a nearby sun directly into the docking bay

“Well, this is it...” Said Zodar, who checked to see if his LA pistol was still inside his jacket pocket. He wasn’t taking any chances.

The shiny silver hull of the alien vessel entered the simulated environment of the docking bay (without even hitting anything, good job!) and lowered itself to come to a perfect landing on the docking bay floor.

When the hatch opened, Zodar held his breath, before a man peered outside. A human.

“Aww… Don’t tell me that these aliens are humanoid.” Zodar muttered to himself.

The man heard somehow and replied, “What did you expect? Something a little more like this?”
The man shape changed to become a huge …thing. It now resembled a smooth, deep-black suit of obsidian plate armour with no facial features. Zodar had trouble knowing where to direct his speech.
“Uh, hi. Yeah, that’s more like it.”
“We thought that a familiar appearance might be more comforting to you. What would thy name be?”
“Zodar. Christopher John Zodar. I’m an engineer aboard this ship.”
The alien began to laugh to himself, as more aliens began to exit disembark from the ship.
“Is something funny?” Chris asked.
“It’s just strange to hear that name… You see, we are Zodar. ‘Tis our race.”
“This just gets weirder and weirder.”
“You will not need that weapon, Christopher. We are a peaceful race.” Said the alien unexpectedly and the gun flew out of Chris’s jacket and was guided slowly into his hand.
“Sorry, I was just being prepared for the worst.” Said Chris and he put his gun on a nearby crate.
“No, I am sorry that we did not make clearer the purpose of our visit. We have a great many things to tell you, we believe that you are now at an age where you will accept all that we have to say.”
“I can’t wait to hear it.” Chris said, smiling.
“Is there a place prepared that we might be able to rest our weary bodies, young Christopher?”
“There’s a meeting room. We can rest and talk there.”
“That would be splendid.”
The party of 6 was lead by Chris through the halls and walkways of Blue Dwarf until they reached one of the main meeting rooms on board the ship. The aliens inspected the room.
“This room is more than satisfactory for our needs. Please, Christopher, sit with us, we have much to tell you…”

<To Be Continued>

OOC: Jenni, In part 5 I meant that Zodar had just woken up and his head was in a fog. Not that Eve looks like Jay or Jay looks like Eve, or that Zodar finds Jay attractive. None of those are true. I think you know what I mean.
I still have more information that you never knew about Chris Zodar to hand out, but you'll have to wait till I post part 7 to see it... :)
