Good God, He Posted!

"Also inform all of our Department heads that I want them to
prepare a report on thier departments readiness for our next mission
in a half an hour in the ready room. I think that should give them
each enough time to assemble thier report."

Groggily, Keto opened his eyes. For a while they just hung open like that, before the pupils suddenly realised that they'd better get their act together and start focusing.
So it was that gradually, almost painful in its sheer lack of speed, Parrott's Bar came into Keto's vision.
"What am I doing here?" Keto tried to murmur. Unfortunately, due to the effects of peanut-following bazookoid fire, having a bottle of liquor smashed over his head, being shot several times by harmless but not exactly pleasant beams and (not least) lying in a heap on the floor of Parrott's for a while, his voice came out more as "whaargh?"
Swaying slightly, he rose to his feet, shaking his head and pressing his fingers to his temples as it all came flooding back.
"I really tried to strangle the Acting Captain?" he wondered to himself, before the memory of exactly WHY he'd tried to do it reappeared as well. "Ah."
The memory of the fact that the ship was infested by pirates was hot on its heels, causing Keto to suddenly go into a half-crouch and look both wary and panicked at the same time...
Fortunately for Keto, Holly chose that moment to appear on the wall.
"Hey Doc."
"WAH!" yelled Keto, spinning round and expecting to see a giant slavering pirate, "I..DON'T DO THAT!"
"Do what?"
"Sneak up behind me!" snapped Keto, "It's unnerving."
"Oh, okay," said Holly, somewhat abashed...and vanished.
Keto had just enough time to look puzzled before Holly appeared on the other wall, now behind him, and said, "This better?"
"WAAH!" yelled Keto again, involuntarily diving behind a table before peering over it and starting to quiver with suppressed rage.
"You said you didn't want me sneaking up on you, so I appeared on the other wall," said Holly defensively, "Look, do you want the message or not?"
"What. Message." asked Keto, biting off the words.
"Acting Captain White Wolf wants all department heads to produce a report on the readiness of their department for the Blue Dwarf's next mission, to be given to him in half and hour in his ready room," said Holly, reciting from rote, "Okay?"
"Did he not possibly consider the fact that the readiness of the onboard departments could be impaired by the current pirate raid?" asked Keto, raising an eyebrow sarcastically, "Or was he too busy borrowing private medical equipment to cast a thought in that direction?"
"Well, since all the pirates are locked in the cargo bay, I don't think any department is going to worry about it," said Holly. Then he frowned, "Unless the cargo bay counts as a department...do you think the cargo bay counts as a department?"
"Holly..."
"...t's part of the ship's storage after all, which could m..."
"Holly-"
"...hough that's not going to..."
"HOLLY!"
"What?"
"Go away."
"'Thanks so much for the message, Holly'" mocked the computer grouchily as he faded out, "'Oh, don't mention it.'"
"Right, a department readiness report," murmured Keto to himself as he walked out of Parrott's and towards the medibay, "Well, that shouldn't be too bad. After all, what can they possibly have done to my medibay while I was gone? Nothing too serious, I'm certain."
==========
OOC: Well, I know I haven't posted for a while, but I've been trying to keep up (hope I haven't missed anything major out...the medibay being deserted, the Blue Dwarf exploding, anything like that ;))!
Medibay people, I'm on my way back. Don't all cheer at once, now.
