He could feel EP trying to take back control, but it wouldn't work for a while. He only needed a few hours to complete his plan. With any luck Amber would have got the package by now....

Amber came into the medi-bay holding the package in her hands and staring at it curiously.
"Mom, Dad said I had to give this to you" Amber held out the package
"Not now honey, put it over there" She said writing a report about the dean ferret and Armer, who had long since gone somewhere else, probably Parrotts to drink.
"But it sounded really important mom" Amber persisted still holding out the package. Tara looked up from the keyboard and took the package. Amber smiled "Ok mom gotta go. I've got to go help tidy up the shuttle bay after Wildflower crashed a shuttle in there."
"The medi-crew are back!?" Said Tara suprised
"Yea, Bye" and Amber hurried out
"T'ch, I hardly ever see her now that she is a pilot..." Tara thought for a moment about the imminent return of Dr. Keto and his spanish armada style questioning about how she had looked after the medi-bay, she was the deputy medical officer, she could cope. She turned her attention to the box on her desk and took off it's lid. There was an envelope inside and a box that fit in the palm of her hand. On the envelope was written 'open me first'. Dubiously and suspecting some Evil Phillian trick she opened the envelope and took out the letter inside, Phil had scrawled a note in his handwriting on the paper. It said:My Beloved Tara, 
I deeply regret all the events over the last few months. Having this evil side of me awakened was not of my choosing. It seems that he is hell bent on destroying not only my lef, but those that I care about. If there was another way around this, I would have done it. The only possible course of action available to me now is to leave you and the kids. Permanently. You'll find a small token of my love for you with this note.

By the end of the note Tara was crying, realising that it was EP who had made hm do all those things and that she still loved him. She wiped her eyes and picked out the smaller box and opened it. Inside was a diamond ring that reflected every beam of light in the room. The diamond was quite large and set on a gold band. Tara held it in her hand amazed, then remembered that Phil had enough money to afford a moon and its neighbouring planet. She smiled, she had never gone for his money. She slipped the ring on her finger, it was a perfect fit. She noticed another note inside the smaller box:
My Love - If you should read this note, then by now I am dead. I always intended to marry you but events got in the way. Take this and think of me always.

Tears rolled down Tara's face and splashed onto the paper
"Phil....I always thought it would be your loop that would separate us..." she whispered and looked out of the window. The Ragnarock flew past the window followed by the Phoenix with it's guns blazing. Tara's eyes flashed with fury "CHRYSLER!" she yelled and ran outside and into the nearest spaceworthy vehicle.... an escape pod, she set the pod to head for the Phoenix and pushed the thruster button and the pod shot off towards the customised bug...<Tag Jay>
