Firing blanks.............um...

WHO:- Jay, Ray
Where:- shuttles.
TINK!
The missile launched from the weapons bay on the Space Eagle II had
slightly less effect than hoped, in fact it had no effect.
"What happened?" Jay asked over the comm.
"I dont know!" Ray replied, "It just didn't detonate!"
"Ok, get out of here Durron, head back to the ship"
"But.."
"What else can you do here?"
"Point taken"
The eagle banked away, and headed for the Dwarf.
Jay was hoping that Ray's missile had simply been a dud, like the
ships doctor. (heh heh!)
He fired the one installed in the Phoenix.
It hit the rear nd of the missile, but again it didnt detonate, it
did however rip three of the thrusters off the rocket.
"What the hell is going on?!" Jay yelled at noone in particular, then
noticed that the lack of those three thrusters had cuased the
missile's course to alter.
"Kelly" he asked the computer. "Calculate new trajectory"
he hoped he had changed the course enough to make the missile pass by
Earth harmlessly.
"New trajectory calculated. Missile will no longer hit San Fransisco,
now heading for the Sahara desert."
Jay opened a channel to the Dwarf
"Captain, the missions a bust, missiles still gonna hit, but I might
have bought us some time, i'll take the bots a while to cross the
desert"
"Ok Lt., head back to the ship"
Jay brought the Phoenix around and as he was about to hit the
thruster control noticed the Ragnarok.
"whats he up to?"
Heading toward PHil he opened a comm channel
"Phillip, behave yourself sunshine!"
