Captain Niples "Destruction of property"

A swarm of the flying robots flew over the building they were on, they came
above them and flew below them between the buildings of the normally
bustling streets of Maxomegopolis. One robot spotted them and came in to
attack. Completely ignoring Efof it targetted the Captain. It was about the
sixe of a family dog (if family dogs had a 2 metre wingspan).
The robot mosquitto opened its jaws to reveal what looked like a laser
weapon. The weapon glowed and fired....

Captain Niples + Efof
Top of a building, Maxomegopolis
Seymour held his arm in front of him and jumped to the side to avoid the
flying robot. A wide beam of yellow light showered the captain's arm as he
leaped out of its way. Niples ducked to the floor and rolled on his
shoulder.
His arm had gone numb, it fixed itself to his side and refused to move when
he got back on his feet and needed the arm for balence. The robot got
closer, stalking him around the rooftop. As Seymour was a peaceful man he
carried no side-arm, which he would have reached for with his good arm right
about now if he had known he would find himself in this situation.
Seeing a loose metal bar leaning against the rim of the building, he stepped
in its direction, but the robot positioned itself between him and the
prospective weapon in a flash. Its weapon charged up again, and as Seymour
could hardly move his bad arm, he didn't want the same thing to happen to
the rest of him. He cradled his arm, and realised that it was not totally
numb, but just took a long time to move it, he thought about moving it to
punch the robot in front of him- hoping that the nerve impulses would get to
his arm quick enough so that he punched the robot before he was zapped
again. He wondered if this was what it was like being a Plebian?
But his now-Plebian arm wasn't responding quick enough, the robots weapon
glowed. Luckily, Efof ran up behind, being totally ignored by the robot-
which only seemed to see Humans, picked up the metal pipe and smacked the
robot.
It tumbled out of the air and dropped off the side of the building, hitting
the ground hundreds of metres below. Efof looked very chuffed with himself,
he had saved the Captain. Surely a promotion would come soon. He stood
between the Captain and the edge of the building.
"Well Cap-"
FWACK!!! The Captain's arm finally recieved the order to punch and lashed
out, hitting Efof right where his nose would have been if he were Human.
He toppled backwards off the skyscraper.
"Oh Efof, I am terribly sorry!" Seymour said sincerely apologetic. He jumped
off the building after him, knowing that he could fly them safely to the
ground.
He grabbed the Ffionian in mid fall and tried to fly back up again.
But he couldn't, he didn't have the superhuman strength to fly anymore.
"Why are we still falling Captain?"
"I...urm...I'm not terribly sure Efof. I think the robots weapon has reduced
my powers."
"That's not good is it?" Efof said dissapointedly.
"Not really no. I'll try the best I can."
Seymour put his mind to it and managed to slow them down, they fell
harmlessly into chairs of a streetside eatery.
"We need to get back to the camp as soon as we can if those awful things are
headed over there."
"What about a Blue Midget thats parked at the campsite? We could
remote-activate it and tell it to fly on autopilot to pick us up, and then
fly it back."
"Well done Mr. Efof! You're really heading for a promotion at this rate!"
Efof blushed and Seymour phoned the computer on the Blue Midget, it had a
rudimentary artificial intelligence which allowed it to suddenly stand up
(much to the surprise of the Dwarfers lazily stood around it at the main
campsite) and fly to them.
After a few minutes, the two looked up into the sky of the city street and
saw the Blue Midget descending between the tall skyscrapers. It landed on
its two clunky metal legs and stomped down the high street towards them. In
the panic and confusion, lots of cars had been abandoned in the streets and
the Blue Midget stomped over them, crushing them and kicking them out of its
way as it walked towards the Captain. It kicked over a decorative fountain
in the centre of a street junction and made large square footprints in a
grassed roundabout, killing a large flowerbed of petunias.
"Ooh dear, what a mess!" Captain Niples worried.
The Midget stomped to a stop right next to them and crouched down to allow
them to climb into its access hatch. Efof gt to the controls and under his
control, it ran down the high street to pick up speed for flying.
A team of Plebian soldiers (who have had their DNA changed to be
super-human) had seen the Midget coming and came to investigate. They stood
right in the vehicles way of escape. Efof slowed down and turned 90 degrees
left to go down another street, but there were soldiers there too, these had
set up a barrier in the road.
"Go for it Efof, but try not to make a mess. This is such a lovely city, I'd
hate to damage any of the buildings any more." His Captain urged.
Efof flicked a switch on the joystick. Two gun barells came out of the BM's
front, one at each side of the small craft. Suddenly it looked more like one
of the walking robots from Robocop than an innocent mining support craft.
It fired, machine gun sprayed all over the soldiers and the barricade. The
pilesof wood, cars and metal they had tried to block the road with sparked
with bullets and exploded, people ran for cover and got hit by weapons fire.
The BM's head swung from side the side spraying more bullets, stray ones
hitting the skyscraper on the corner of the road, smashing its windows and
foundations. Metal bent, supporting structures buckled. The tall building
began to sway.
The way was now clear so Efof moved the mechanical beast down the street,
hitting the thrusters as they hit running pace and taking off into the sky,
the BM's legs tucked snugly into the bottom of the craft. Behind them the
tower fell over into the street causing massive explosions and crushing
hundreds of smaller buildings. Maxomegopolis would never be the same again,
the Blue Dwarf crew had left their mark.
To be continued later, can someone post what happens when the robots reach
our camp (if they havn't already by the time this post appears on the list)
