ArchAlexander and Wolverflower
Who: Wildlfower and Alexander.
Where: Amber's Starbug's Medibay.
--------------------
"Ok, your turn," said Wildflower sighing.
"Do I have to?" asked Alexander wearily. "Quite frankly I imagined life onboard this ship would
be a little more entertaining than continual games of eye spy in a festering medibay."
"You've got a good imagination," shrugged Wildflower. "No tell a lie, it does get better. When
something goes wrong. And seeing as we're the crew of the BD something is always going wrong.
Take this evacuation for example," Wildlfower beagn ranting. "I could bet my life's savings with
absolute certainity that it's not goign to be a simple 'leave ship for a few weeks and return.' I've
been part of the crew long enough to realise that there is to be a hideous mistake or surprise waiting
for us when we reach the planet's surface!" Wildlfower folded her arms smugly.
"Just you wait and see," she said, nodding sagely.
Alexander rolled her eyes.
"Whatever you say Jennifer."
A large thump broke off the fun and games, as the starbug hit the ground uncertainly and forcefully.
Wildlfower and Alexander, in the uncomfort of the temp medibay, met the ground with a rather large
thumping noise.
"Ouch! that hurt," shouted Wildlfower, rubbing her arm in pain. she looked at her forearm to see
that one of the medical blades had given her a nasty gash along the inside of the elbow to the tip of
the palm.
"Awww no," she moaned, having to search for some bandages. she began to wrap the bandages around
her arms, whimpering with every wrap, unaware of the metal still lodged inside the wound.
Alexander appeared from under a mess of boxes and was muttering, an evil scowl on her face.
"Remind me never to fly with anyone ever again," she said through gritted teeth.
-That night-
Wildflower was having severe trouble getting to sleep. She'd been tossing and turnign, and blacking
in and out ever since she'd settled down for the evening. Her arm had itched like hell for the first half
an hour, and then it had stopped, but a wierd aching in her bones had taken over. And she didn't know
what to do. She tried closing her eyes, but it was to no avail, her bones wouldn't stop.
Eventually, sick and tired of the pain, she rose to her feet and stalked out of the tent. She walked over
to one of the starbugs, slightly surprised at a sudden burst of wind to her back. she turned around, but
there was nothing there save for a few scorch marks on the floor.
"This is too odd," she said, he bones really beginning to cause her pain. She needed aspirin or painkillers
or something. Just as she was about to board the one of the bugs, she was surprised to see Alexander
stumbling out of it, her hands round her head.
"Sarah? What's up?" she asked, concerned for her friend. Alexander looked up at Wildflower, her
eyes red and then screamed. There was a loud ripping sound, as if cloth and flesh were being torn, and a
huge pair of bright white wings sprouted from Alexander's back. Alexander collapsed as Wildlfower
stood still in complete shock.
"What the hell?" she said to no one in particular.
Alexander groggily rose to her feet and let out a small cry of pain.
"Jennifer, what's happened to me?" she asked. "Why do I have wings?"
"I don't know," said Wildlfower.
There was a brief silence.
"Do they work?"
Alexander shurgged. She closed her eyes and Wildflower watched in amazement as the wings began
flapping steadily, before lifting Alexander off the ground completely.
"Wow," said Wildflower, speechless.
"Ok, Jennifer, you were right about this not being a simple leave the ship for a few weeks."
Wildflower nodded, and scratched her bad arm for a second, a sharp jolt of pain forcing it's way along
the bone. Wildflower cursed as the bandage came away in her hands, and the curse turned into a statement
of surprise when she discovered that she no longer had a gash, or indeed a scar.
"Sarah, I have a bad feeling about this," she said forebodingly. Her fears were confirmed when a tired
looking Niples called the evacuees to a meeting.
"I think we're not the only ones affected," said Wildflower, looking at hovering Communist obsessed
Cerebrum, a Blue Furry Alota and a moodily slouching Keto who had small nuts and bolts trailing behind him.
"We might as well attend," she said.
Wildlfower and the now flying Alexander hurried over to Niples meeting, eager to hear what he had to say.
