Fear gripped at her heart she backed away as the figure slowly and noisely
came out of the shadows, her mind screamed help for Zodar, but she knew he
wouldn't have heard or be coming to save her.

Zodar, it would seem, had found himself a job back in the shuttle bay.
Before Jay had returned from his journey and brought with him the
unfortunate news, Chris had been giving the shuttles their annual tune-up.
Well, alright, not annual, more like their "I'll do it when I have the time
and the energy" tune-up. It was amazing that the shuttles worked as well as
they did without a regular service. Fear of them falling apart in mid-space
was what prompted Zodar to do something about fixing them in the first
place. Now he had returned to finish the job he'd started.
Starting on the last of the Blue Midgets, Zodar opened the service hatch on
the engine. A bunch of sparks flew out of the reactor core, followed by a
very bright stream of blue light. The sparks seemed to give the light
definite contours, like a hologram, finally creating an image that looked
remarkably like Eve.
Then, like it was fed directly into his head, she spoke.
"Help me C.J.Zodar, you're my only hope!"
Realising that the blue light was probably a reactor core breach which was
now giving him a large dose of toxic radiation, Chris slammed the service
hatch shut.
"Whoa." He said, regaining his eyesight from being blinded by the light.
"That was... Nah, couldn't be."
Trying to believe that Eve had sent him a message with her mind in the form
of a plasma radiation leak was a hard task for Chris and he dismissed it as
pure imagination.
Chris slowed the plasma flow in the reactor core so he could repair the
leak, which required only that a seal on one of the intake valves be
renewed. In five minutes he had fixed the problem and was on his way out of
the shuttle bay.
Before leaving he thought about the exam he did two months earlier.
"Someone should have the results of that by now. I want to see how I did!
Especially when the exam I did was the Medical exam, and not the Engineering
exam!" He thought to himself.
