Who:- Jay, Amber
Where:- Phoenix, coming back to Blue Dwarf
 
Amber felt awkward. Jay hadnt spoken since they got baclk aboard the Phoenix, this guy never normally shut up and now 4 days  had passed of the return journey to the 'Dwarf  and he'd said about three words. And that was to Kelly.
He was sat at the pilots station. His hands tightly gripping the control stick, unshaven and a complete shadow of the man she knew. In the cargo hold, in a stasis chamber, the body of Vanessa lay. Amber shuddered, she couldnt wait to get back aboard the Blue Dwarf.
She jumped as she heard Jays voice.
"Chrysler to Dwarf, permission to dock?"
"Granted Jay, bring her in to shuttlebay 42
The Blue Dwarf was a pleasing site, it may be a floating hulk of rust, and still heading for a black hole too..presumably, but it was home.
The shuttle touched down, the usual procedure of the hatch opening and the embarkation ramp deploying followed through as normal. And Jay walked down, followed by Amber.
Zodar, who was working on a nearby Starbug, conducting standard systems checks. Seeing Jay, looking pretty damn scruffy he stopped what he was doing and walked over to him.
Stopping in front of Jay he spoke.
"Jay mate, you're back!......wheres Vanessa?"
Jay didnt rely, just took Zodar by the colar and shoved him to one side, out of his way. Zodar stunned watched as Jay stormed out of the shuttle bay silently.
"Whats with him?" Zodar askd Amber.."And what are you doing aboard the Phoenix"
Amber, not knowing who Zodar was spoke "You a friend of his?"
"Yeh"
"Then help me shift this body."
 
 
Where:-Jay and Alotas quarters
When:- Later
 
Alota returned home from a duty shift. Stepping insode the quarters she found it dark
"Holly...lights"
The lights lit up. ANd Alota saw the figure of her husband looking out of the window at the starscape view.
"JAY!" she squealed, excitedly "You're home! what happened! did you find him?!"
"Yeah we found him..and the son of a bitch..."
"What?"
"HE..he..." Jay was breaking down..
"What honey?" Alota asked softly, putting an arm around him. Wiping away a single tear Jay spoke "Shes not coming back Alota.." He took her hand off his shoulder and turned towards the door.
"Where are you going?"
"Dont know.." Jay said and walked out. Leaving ALota staring at the door. worried about what her husband was going to do.
