The Table

Alota glared at Jay, the fact that that women was in her presence was one thing but that Jay had neglected to tell her.  She just decided to grin and bear it, after all, dealing with awkward people was one of her specialties.
A little conversation was started to ease the tension between Alota and Wildflower. Didn't help a lot but that was expected.
Holly interuppted saying something about an important message which Jay and Vanessa took in Owens office. Once the two had left Alota snapped,
"Listen bitch" she hissed
"Leave my man alone" Wildflower was about to say something when Jay came and vanessa came out. Jay whispered into Alota's ear something, she nodded and waved goodbye as he left

"Where's he going?" asked Zodar, trying to change the topic of conversation.
Wildflower cut in, "I don't want your man, Alota. Get the idea out of your thick head."
"Oh, I bet you're just lying so that I'll get off your back. You don't fool me you slut."
"SLUT?!"
Watching the rapidly rising level of the argument, Chris spoke up, "Ok, I think we've had enough of a fight today, thankyou very much, that'll do nicely for the daily requirement for the ship."
"Shut up, you. You have no idea what this is about." Said Alota, angrily.
"True, but if this goes any further you'll be breaking out the brass knuckles and disfiguring each other's faces. Clam down, both of you, before someone loses an eye. Show a little restraint, please!" Said Zodar, voice slightly raised.
The table fell silent.
Eve put her hand on Chris' shoulder, "Chris..." she said softly while giving him a look that said "Please don't do this, it's embarrassing and I don't want to be involved in an all-in brawl", but Chris, noticing Eve, took the opportunity to introduce her and change the mood a little bit.
"Oh yeah, this is Eve. She's kinda new here. Eve, this is Alota Chrysler and Jennifer Wildflower."
Alota nodded in acknowledgement and Jennifer managed a weak "Hi."
