Keto, left alone in the giant, basic-medical facility of this giant
complex, began looking through storage cupboards, giant sets of
sealed (but not sealed that securely, he discovered) drawers and
cabinets, huge files full of medical research papers...
"There's enough in these files to concoct enough ointments for
YEARS to come!" mused Keto to himself, grabbing as many of the files
as he could, still going through the other storage spaces.
Opening one cabinet, he came across a strange-looking device that
looked as if it had been put together by a blind, two-thumbed
imbecile followed plans drawn up by a madman in invisible ink.
"This looks interesting," understated Keto, holding the device up.
It was surprisingly heavy, for its size - a little smaller than a
basketball, a cuboidal shape made out of some grey material, covered
in strange symbols.
*Rustle-rustle?*
"I don't know, but it's mine and it looks valuable!" snapped Keto,
turning to see the Tree wandering in. A frown crossed his face.
"WHAT," he asked, "is THAT?"
*Rustle rustle-rustle!* replied the Tree wrapping a branch
protectively across the small shrub it was wheeling along behind it
on a trolly. Keto sighed.
"It is not your cousin."
*RUSTLE!*
"You are a tree, you are pink, and you're fairly sentient. It...is
a shrub."
*Rustle! Rustle rustle!*
"Fine, whatever, bring the dead shrub along for the ride, but take
this as well!" sighed Keto, locking the mysterious object in the
Tree's branches, "Now go and pick up anything valuable-looking as
well, because that's now officially the property of the medibay, and
therefore me!"
*Rustle rustle?*
"What? No, I don't care if you let Cerebrum have a few little
items..."
*Rustle...* agreed the Tree, and started to head off. Keto paused,
and then called after it.
"Little! I said LITTLE! As in NOT VALUABLE! Damn vegetable..."
