Who: Coffey, Shakespeare.
When: The Morning After The (Dead at the moment) Party.
Where: Their Quarters.
======================================================================
Chief Surgeon william Shakespeare strode around the kitchen of his
quarters looking flustered. He glanced at the timer connected to his
wrist bone every few seconds watching the time slowly tick away. He
hadn't been to sleep yet, in fact, he couldn't go to sleep.
It seemed when wildflower had put him back togther, that she'd
removed his ability to sleep so he wouldn't lose out on the hours of
the day that he'd miss by doing so. Effectively, when the
personalities switched, it would be the equivalent of sleep for him.
There were 45 seconds left, and he was nervous about what would
happen. He'd laid out a lot of cushions in case his body fell to the
ground, and had written a note to Hazel Coffey (who WAS sleeping)
just in case she found him on the ground.
At that moment, the bedroom doors opeend and Hazel Coffey appeared,
sleepy and rubbing the top of her head, causing the already ruffled
hair to becoem more so.
"Ah, Hazel, thou hast awoken from thy sleep! A verily good
morningeth to ye," he said warmly.
She smiled, her eyes tight, and stumbled over to the kitchen
counter.
"William, good morning," she mumbled, having trouble creating words
from her still snoozing brain.
She moved over and hugged him.
There was silence.
"Kindly remove your arms from my waist, Nurse," said Shakespeare
coldly. Coffey drew back, waking up a little more, and stared at
Shakespeare, who seemed to have lost all the warmth he was earlier
exuberating.
"Trisees?!" she said.
"I'm surprised, you remembered my name after three months," he
said, folding his arms.
"How could I forget someone like you?" she asked.
"I know, I am pretty unforgettable," agreed Trisees. "What would
this crew do without me?"
Coffey was about to answer him when Holly's face appeared on the
Kitchen's monitor.
"Bing bong, morning all medicre personnel. Doctor Keto would like
all members of the medical staff to meet him in Starbug One in four
minutes and fifty nine seconds for an important away mission."
Trisees smiled.
"Looks like I'll have the medibay all to myself today, Nurse," he
said.
"Wrong, Trisees, Keto wants you there too," said Holly, before
disappearing.
"Looks like I'll have to put up with your charming company for a
little bit longer, Scientist," said Coffey, smiling.
On Starbug One
Trisees sat at the Starbug's science station muttering:
"I still don't see why I have to come along. Stupid medical
department."
"Trust me, Lawrence," said Keto from the navigation station. "My
motives will become clear."
Trisees didn't repsond.
Chrysler sat at one of the piloting stations, whilst the other one
remained unmanned. Tara, the Tree, Wildlfower and Coffey all in the
back area of Starbug.
'Up to no good, probably' thought Keto.
"I'm taking her up now," said Chrysler.
"Closing Starbug doors..."
There were almost inaudible hurried footsteps and a loud clang as
the door of Starbug closed.
"Take off," said Chrysler happily.
As the bug lurched away, a figure appeared at the hatchway of the
cockpit. It was Phsyicatrist, (and 'pain in the ass' if you'd asked
Keto or Trisees) Patrick Cerebrum.
"Greetings, everyone, Dr Cerebrum has arrived," he announced, "So,
where exactly is this alien hospital?" He strode over to the empty
pilot's seat and occupied the space.
Keto muttered something under his breath.
"Wait a minute, Alien Hospital?" asked Trisees loudly from his
station.
"What?" queried Chrysler, tilting the starbug quickly as he tried
to spin on his chair and face Keto.
"Shh, keep it down," said Keto, glancing at the back of the bug.
"He's not positive, but then again, he never is anyway, but Holly
thinks he's found some kind of alien distress beacon, from some sort
of hospital facility. And naturally, being the medical department, I
thought we'd make the perfect team of salvagers."
"But why bring me along? What can I do?" asked Trisees.
"Well, there could be various pieces of technology that need a
scientist's brains to understand and/or fix them."
"I see," said Trisees warily. Wondering what they were to REALLY
find onboard the alien ship.
