 It was then that something happened that jay would regret for a long time, he hadnt even started to recover from his operation that had occured just hours ago. A violent agonising pain shot through him and he fell to the floor clutching his chest...
 
the security team advanced.

Around the corner defence tactics were being discussed...
 
"Have you got enough power for another telekinetic display?"
"I think so, but I'll be on empty when this is over."
"The backup power should last until we can find a power source. Now go and protect Jay while I drag him to safety!"
 
Cubie walked into the doorway put her arms up and cast an invisible field between Jay and the security team just as they fired their weapons at the seemingly defenceless man.
Each bullet, laser and bazookoid diffused on contact with the shield, fizzling out in an array of sparks and ionic explosions.
Zodar ran to get Jay.
 
"Make it quick, I can't hold this for long, my power is in the red." Shouted Cubie as she stood with a sorceress' stance concentrating hard on creating the only thing protecting them.
 
Having trouble lifting Jay without it causing even more pain, Chris noticed the gun that Evil Jay had dropped and tried to bring it's presence to the attention of the friendly party by pointing to it and mouthing, "Get the gun!", but Chris couldn't stick around to find out whether they received his message, because he had only just managed to get Jay across his shoulders and was legging it out of there.
