Through the Vent (no hyphen) Shaft

"At this point, I guess I'd have to agree," said Keto, staring back
up the corridor to where a couple of collapsed Eniram were beginning
to stir. "Okay people, I think we need to calmly climb into the vent
and..."
Keto turned to see an empty corridor, and Alota's feet just
vanishing into the vent shaft.
"You coming or not!?" yelled Alota as she vanished from view. Keto
yelped and dived for the vent himself. His progress was,
unfortunately, somewhat impeded when his lab coat got caught on the
vent cover.
"Smeg! Hey! I could use a little help back here!" shouted Keto,
trying to turn around or back out of the shaft and failing
miserably. Up ahead, the sounds of the other three shuffling onwards
stopped. Then Alota murmured something inaudible.
"I'll pretend I heard that, and be gracious enough to ignore it!"
snapped Keto, "Help me!"
At that point, there was the sound of a raised voice behind him.
"Oh great," he murmured. Suddenly his face lit up.
"Aha, but they'll have a tough time trying to capture me again if
they get zapped every time they grab me!" he said triumphantly,
reaching back to his pockets, "With my lucky...psych...tazer..."
There was nothing there.
"HELP ME!"

*Self-deprecation is an art form, but then deprecating others is more
