Looking down at Tara, Jay spoke
"I'm sorry...im just worried about my girlfriend...understandable
surely....not to mention. this GODDAM TUBE!!!!"
"What?"
"Never mind"
Jay continued climbing at a faster pace than everyone else.
Vanessa shouted upwards "Jay?, you ok..."
"Just dandy...." he said stopping and clutching the ladder...
"Just keep moving, you'll be ok..." his sister said in response
Jay clambered up the ladder at an incredible speed, increasing the
gap between him and Dirk, who was just below him.
"What do you mean?....he'll be ok?" Tara asked Vanessa.
"Wondering why Jay was one of those who put his hand up to use the
corridors?"
"No but I am now"
"He's claustrophobic, thats why i made him go first, he'll be back in
the rest of the ship sooner."
"dudes not having a good day is he...." Dren piped up from below
Vanessa, where he had a good view of Jays sister from below...
A hatch opened at the bottom of the service duct, "THERES MORE OF EM
IN HERE!" came a fishy voice...
The crew looked down...except Jay who kept climbing faster and faster
desperate to get out of the restricted space. He stopped when an
Eniram harpoon skimmed his ear lodging itself in the wall.
There was a short pause...
Pffffffffffffffft.
"Did you hear that?" Said Zodar.
"Please, let that not be what it sounded like..." Said Dirk.
"I think it was." Said Tara.
"Damnit, Jay! The only way out is up and you've left a smoke screen for us
to suffer through!" Said Dren.
"Oh yeah, he kinda passes wind when he gets nervous..." Said Vanessa
"Well, at least he has a good reason..." Said Phil.
"Can we stop talking AND GET OUT OF HERE?!" Shouted Kayn.
The group simultaneously held their breath and picked up the pace.
