Passing The Buck Back

Where: Medibay (should I just not bother wasting these pixels in
future?)
When: Just after Jay's 'landing' and as Tara is brought to the medibay
Who: Keto, Coffey, BPT, Vanessa, Tara, Wildflower, Jay, Cerebrum,
Eniram Bodyparts (cameo appearance)
=====================================================
Keto had just finished packing away the last of the cryogenic
suspension cases he was putting the Eniram bodyparts in (see, I told
you they'd have a cameo!) when Vanessa and Wildflower walked back in,
dragging a nearly unconscious Tara behind them.
"She's okay, we think, just very groggy," said Vanessa as they lay
Tara out on a medibunk.
"I am so very happy, please hold back the joy that I feel," said
Keto, expressionless as he closed the cupboard door on the last of
the jars. Vanessa looked up at the top shelf as he did so, and
blinked.
"Wh...Doc, why is there a head in..."
"Don't ask questions to which you don't wish to know the answers,"
replied Keto, shutting the door firmly.
"But I *do* want to know..."
"Don't wish to know the answers to questions which I won't let you
ask. Now then, about Miss Cleavage..."
Keto walked over, and took Tara's pulse. He hummed thoughtfully
and hooked her up to a monitor. After a couple of seconds of
watching it, he straightened up.
"I'm afraid it's bad news," he said gravely.
Vanessa and Wildflower stared at him worriedly. Even the Big Pink
Tree let out a frightened rustle.
"She's going to be fine," sighed Keto, "I'm sorry."
As there were a couple of sighs of relief, and a relaxing of bark,
Coffey walked over from the far side of the office.
"That's not funny," she said sternly.
"I know, it's tragic," said Keto, turning away again.
Just then, a message came through the speaker system, from Patrick
Cerebrum. Keto involuntarily ground his teeth as he heard the voice.
"Medi-bay. There's an unconcious pilot in the psychiatric offices,
you might consider sending someone up to take care of him. If he
dies, it's your fault now, not mine."
"Wh...? Right, that's it!" snarled Keto, and stepped over to the
intercom.
"Holly, patch me through to the psychiatric department!" he
snapped. As Holly did so, Keto spoke.
"*Doctor* Cerebrum, as you may or may not have noticed, being
trapped inside your own little utopia, we are in fact under attack
from hostile alien forces. While this may represent a grand
opportunity for you to join with your fishy compadres and return to
your natural habitat crawling along the bottom of the ocean, it does
in fact mean a large increase in the number of individuals attending
the medibay at present..."
Wildflower frowned and glanced around, seeing Tara as the only
patient, and opened her mouth to say something. A glare from Keto,
cold enough to make the average woolly mammoth stay inside, stopped
her.
"...and as such we cannot spare the personnel, or indeed the time,
to treat an unconscious pilot in your psychiatric department. Quite
frankly, if the cretin is foolish and clumsy enough to crash into
your department ANYWAY, then he is obviously deranged and so will
make a fitting companion. With any luck, perhaps you'll feel a
strange compulsion to follow his lead and will therefore STOP
BOTHERING ME!"
Screaming the last few words, Keto flicked the intercom switch
arrogantly. He would have preferred to slam down a receiver, or kick
a door shut in the opposition's face, but the advance of technology
had long ago prohibited any form of violent satisfaction against
inanimate objects.
Of course, thought Keto as he glanced at the Tree, not all
inanimate objects were inanimate.
Sitting down and staring morosely at the monitor Tara was attached
to, just hoping that somehow something might go wrong.

OOC: Okay, so I'm in an evil mood. ;)
Cerebrum? Tara? Anyone near Jay who wants to lend a hand? Eniram
Bodyparts going cheap, now on sale in the medibay (which I still
refuse to hyphenate!)
