Niples + Katrina "Top man"

Katrina Swete + Seymour Niples
A quiet area on top of the Dwarf
She brought her lips close to his ear. "Sitting in a Swiss Bank account
right now is the one million dollars I recieved after my brother's death."
Seymour's right eyebrow shot up at the same time as two people nearby
patching the ship's hull were hitting the metal with hammers, making a
"cha-ching" sound.
Seymour pondered how much Chardonnay, lava-lamps, oprah tickets and dinner
suits that would buy. Probably a lot.
"Why are you telling me this?" he asked her, in a moment of confusion. "You
know I'll love you even if you were the poorest, person on the ship."
"You mean like a lowly cleaner?" she suggested.
"Exactly!" he said. "Anyway, we're millions of miles away from the nearest
Swiss bank, and for all we know we might not even be in the same galaxy!
Money isn't going to help us here at all."
Katrina paused, ready to reply when the voice of jay Chrysler came over the
comm system
"All hands this is Lt. Jay Chrysler...it is with a heavy heart i have to
inform you that so far all of our efforts to lighten the ship have failed"
the general consensus of the crew was one of sadness as it sunk in that they
may all be stranded on this planet
"It is because of this I must make one..last drastic measure...in order to
lighten the ship enough to stay afloat I regret that I am going to have
to......drain the ships alcohol supply tanks"
"Oh my gosh!" exclaimed Niples, not listening to the rest of the message. "I
have a rack of mature Chardonnays in one of the chilled supply tanks. It
will get flushed out with the rest!"
Not being near any comm devices, the Captain was unable to contact Jay to
tell him to abort- he would have to save his wine collection on his own. He
pecked Katrina on the cheek and ran to the nearest access hatch, where he
ducked down into a ventillation tunnel.
Katrina folded her arms and tutted to herself. "men," she sighed.
**Access tunnel**
Seymour rolled out of the hatch and landed on his feet, his Italian-made
Salvatore ferragamo loafers were not the best of shoes for running in, but
he hadn't expected to be doing any heroic rescues today. He brushed down his
tweed jacket and strolled down the corridor, combing his hair back into
place with his fingers.
He rounded a corner and found the door to the supply tank, it was a small
refrigerated unit that opened up to the outside of the ship so that the
contents could be expelled in a situation like this.
"Damn!" he cursed as the pressurisation light came on just as he got there,
meaning that the pressure in the room was building in order to shoot the
contents outwards, without letting anything in from outside. Like stellar
dust or in this situation- water.
Seymour checked the computer panel next to the door, he was lucky. This
level was a few decks above the current water level. He quickly punched in
the code to override the door and it slid open.
Despite the airflow pushing outwards, he battled his way into the small
room. Blinded by the wind he couldn't see the wine rack.
The door shut again and the computer counted down.

He saw the wine rack just as the outer door opened. Everything in the room
lurched towards the opening quickly, and the captain dived for the wine.
Just as the rack tipped over the edge, a fraction of a second before
plunging into the ocean below, Seymour grabbed thr most expensive looking
bottle from the rack.
His legs slipped from underneath him, being blown by the air forced
outwards, he grabbed onto the ledge with one hand and hung for a second as
more cargo was blown out of the bay above him. Gallons and gallons of beer
poured into the ocean below and he stayed there dangling with one hand on
the ledge, and one on the bottle.
"hmm, 1982. Medium dry." he read from the bottle before pulling himself up
effortlessly.
The door out of the supply room opened and katrina walked in, saw the gaping
hole in the side of the room and saw Seymours wind-swept hair.
"Oh my god, what happened?" she asked.
Niples presented the bottle.
"Care for a single malt?" he asked.
