Chrysler was impressed, Jo's engineers had joined Blue Dwarf's just a few hours ago, and using their expertise, which actually involved ideas OTHER than Paper Mache' had nearly sealed the hull breach, that, and the scoop was already to start extracting the hydrogen from the water, Roskev was now leading the operation to lighten the ship enough to help it float. looking down over the edge of the huge vessel, he could see her with her team loading the cargo onto several floating platforms.
He heard his  name called and wheeled around to see who had shouted. It was Ensign Waring, one of the repair team, "site Medics here" 
"Send her up here"
He said turning around to face Zodar a few storeys below to get him to come up and give a progress report. Sensing someone behind him, and expecting wildflower he said "hi Jenny, figured that as i was so busy with the operation, this way we could spend some  time together"
"Flattered Chrysler but frankly....I'd rather eat at Mcdonalds when Penny's weilding a grenade launcher"
Chrysler's expression changed quicker than a greyhound out of the trap.
"Dr. Keto...what a pleasant surprise!"
Keto held his smug expression, Jay would have hit him there and then if it wasnt for his broken arm.
 "you just love making me meiserable doncha Charlie?"
"Big drop there Chrysler"  Keto said gesturing towards the edge of the ship, "You dont want young Wildflower to single again so soon do you, although I'd really hate doing her a favour"
Jay saw Cerebrum wearing a top hat, sneaking up behind Keto, and nodded towards him Keto slowly turned around and seeing Cerebrum ran off screaming like a banshee, being chased by the swift shrink.
Chrysler heard his name mentioned again, this time it was Trisees. Who then deposited 300 blimps on the top of the dwarf.
"Ok people!" he shouted, "Lets get these attached"
Those who had nothing to do, started to attach the blimps in several places around the ship, hydrogen pumping into them all the time.
 
 It wasnt long before Roskev approached Chrysler, who was stood on the roof of the blue dwarf, shouting orders to the teams attaching the blimps. "Umm, Lt…?." she said
"Yeah?" he replied, removing his sunglasses "We still aren’t light enough, were still sinking"
Jay sighed.
"Only one thing left to do..." Jay spoke into his headset,
"Alota, can you patch me in to ship wide announcement system."
"All hands this is Lt. Jay Chrysler...it is with a heavy heart i have to inform you that so far all of our efforts to lighten the ship have failed" the general consensus of the crew was one of sadness as it sunk in that they may all be stranded on this planet
"It is because of this I must make one..last drastic measure...in order to lighten the ship enough to stay afloat I regret that I am going to have to......drain the ships alcohol supply tanks"
Some crewmembers broke down in hysterics, some hurled abuse at Chrysler. Cerebrum and The Appendix suddenly found themselves over booked for appointments.
"I know this will be hard for all of you.." said Jay, fighting back the sobs that were forming in his throat.. trying not to let on that his bottom lip was wobbling...putting his sunglasses back on to hide the tears forming in his eyes. "Please know..this is an outcome I tried desperately to avoid..Chrysler out”
Jay hung his head and placed his over his face, he waved with his other hand to signal to Zodar to drain the tanks.
“Jay..” he said. “theres got to be another way!”
“Zodar! Don’t you think I’ve gone over EVERY possible solution in my head, do you think I  WANT to have to do this?”
Zodar looked at Jay, as if he were praying for another answer..none came.
Jay looked up again
“Chris, do it.”
Zodar nodded, but was not happy to be doing this, he flicked a switch in a control panel that had been set up on the roof, and everyone watched over the edge as gallons upon gallons of various types of alcohol poured into the ocean, Jay hummed the funeral march as he watched with great sadness his beloved fluids disappear into the sea.
