"Oh, great." Zodar said as he heard Alota say something about the crew being in mortal danger over the communications system.
Zodar had been on his way to his room from Parrott's when the speaker on the roof crackled into life.
Alota continued, Zodar concentrated harder to make out the message. "But there's nothing to be alarmed about, at least some of us should survive….."
He felt his feet lift off the ground. Weightlessness. Not good.
"Either the gravity generators are failing, or this ship is... falling?"
Zodar pulled himself along the roof.
"Gotta get to engineering. This looks bad."
He managed to pull himself into an Express Lift and operated the console.

Destination: Main Engineering Deck

Between the Main Engineering Deck and the Deck above, the Express Lift ground to a halt.
Zodar was thrown onto the floor, twisting like a pretzel. The ship had stopped falling. Unfortunately the lift had shut down too.
Chris pulled himself up, ripped a railing off the wall and wedged the doors open. He paused before leaving the elevator.
"Cool...." He thought.
There was a gap just large enough to fit through at the bottom of the doors.
The area below was flooded. Zodar dropped down from the lift into the water and waded over to the large group of engineers who were standing in the waist deep water, trying to seal a section off to keep the water contained. Chris rushed over to help the engineers who were forced to fight the pressure of the water. After a long battle, it closed and the magnetic lock clicked into operation.

"I want every hole in the ship plugged to stop the water from getting in. If it's bad like this one, then close off the entire section." Said a woman Zodar had never seen before. The engineers groaned and waded away. Shortly after, the ship shifted, the engineers were slammed against their closest wall and an eerie creaking sound echoed through the deck.
"Hurry up!" The woman shouted.
Suddenly the urgency of the operation was realised by the engineers.

+COMM+"Engineering to Captain, we've closed off section 3. currently trying to plug holes, any orders give 'em now."

"Where's Smegg?" Zodar asked a wandering engineer.
"He left. Reassigned to the, um... Pink Dwarf."
"Are you sure?" Zodar asked
"Yeah, something like that anyway..."
"Thanks... Oh yeah. Who's that?" Zodar asked and pointed to Roskev who'd skilfully dodged a flying rivet. An engineer ran over to plug the hole that had sprung a leak.
"What are you? New or something?" The engineer asked as if Chris was stupid.
"Something. Now, who is she?" Zodar asked, impatient.
"Her name is Katy Roskev. She took over from Smegg when he left. You report to her now." He walked off before Zodar could finish.
"Ok. Thanks..." Zodar said as he waded over to Roskev who was trying to keep the sealing process as efficient as possible.

"Hi, I'm Crewman Zodar, reporting in." Zodar said, remembering giving a similar speech to Smegg when he first arrived, but that one required a lot more lung capacity and had a lot more volume. This one was clam and confident. He liked the way it sounded in comparison.

<Katy, could you continue?>
