JMC Blue Dwarf
After Big Brother had finished
***Drive room***
Alotta was startled to hear a loud crackling from the communications
speaker. She turned the volume down and analysed the signal.
"Captain. There's a message coming from the Space-core command"
Captain Niples stuck his head around the door of his office. "Can you
patch it through here please?" he said.
Alotta redirected the signal to the video unit in his office.
***Captain's office***
The wall mounted video unit flickered to life and the image of
General Anders from the Space-core appeared on screen. Captain Niples
was sat down at his desk trying to show that he was very comfortable.
"Ahh General, what can I do for you?" he said pleasantly.
"I'm afraid this isn't a social call Seymour."
"It never is."
The General picked up a clipboard and glanced at it before
continuing. "We have had a few strange activities reported in sector
27 gamma. Are you familiar with that sector?"
Seymour looked at his PC to see the star charts, "Yes that was where
we erm… accidentally found our way into an asteroid field near the
planet Ffion. That was also where we saw a huge ship which was shaped
like a spider. And you never believed me, have you changed your mind
now?"
Anders looked a little flushed. "The Space-core does not believe in
alien life forms. However if there is something in this sector then I
want you to take the Blue Dwarf and check it out."
"But isn't that a dangerous mission for a 5 mile long mining ship?"
asked Seymour. "Doesn't the Space-core have Destroyers for that kind
of thing?"
Anders looked a little embarrassed. "Well as we don't fully know the
situation yet we'd rather not send a huge destroyer into a
potentially dangerous situation."
"What? You'd rather risk the thousand lives of Mining corporation
crewmen than risk getting one of your expensive Destroyers damaged?"
"That's pretty much it. Yes."
Niples scowled. He couldn't go against orders but sure as hell wasn't
going to let his crew go into a dangerous situation unprepared.
"Well that's fine. Because you know what? My crew are just as well
trained and more courageous than a crew of space-core marines
anyway." He turned the screen off and the scowling face of General
Anders dissapeared.
Seymour sat down in his chair and rubbed his eyes. He used to get on
well with the General, as he preferred the way of the military more
than the corruption that goes on in the Mining corporation. But now
it seems that the Space-core were turning as bad as Chairman
Eckerslike of the JMC. Or maybe it was just that everyone had turned
against the Blue Dwarf.
A few minutes later Alotta stuck her head around the door of his
office. "We've just had a fax from the General, it's a star chart of
where he wants us to go to."
"Give it to Kayn and tell him to take us there."
Alotta did as he said and hours later they change their direction and
were heading for their new destination, Sector 27 Gamma.
(OOC- Here's the first part of the new storyline. Please nobody
continue the storyline just yet but feel free to post about what your
characters do in the meantime before we get to Sector 27 gamma)
