Drawning of a new era for the security department

Space
The Blue Dwarf
Out of the darkness another ship appeared and began to approach the
Blue Dwarf. The other ship closed in and moved in along side of the
tatty looking Blue mining ship. The Pink Dwarf, another Dwarf Star
mining ship, pink hulled and in a whole better condition then the
Blue Dwarf matched speed and direction.
Blue Dwarf
Launch Bay
Harris stood in the launch bay watching the Blue Midget readying for
launch. Not only was the ship loosing Jason Smegg, or in Harris'
case getting rid of, but he was loosing his assistant security
officer Tiny Jackson. The orders had come through a few days ago,
Jackson was to posted aboard the Pink Dwarf while their assistant
security officer would take over from Jackson on the Blue Dwarf.
Someone was clearly worried that Jackson may pick up some bad habits
from Harris in his strange hero worship of the Major.
There was even a small crowd waving banners on the lines of 'Good Bye
Jason', 'Good Luck' and 'Miss You'.
There was a roar as the Blue Midget's engines warmed up, the two
crewman boarded the Midget and then the craft rose up on its' legs.
Then the craft began its' run up and charged forward, nearing the
opening the craft leapt up and out of the ship, folding its' legs
under itself.
It was more then ten minutes later before the Blue Midget return.
The craft settled down in its' parking spot and then the hatch opened
up. Then Lt. Charlie Edwards exited the craft with a bag under one
arm and a thick file held in the other hand.
Edwards approached the Major, never saluted but Harris didn't care,
and then commented. "Alright, where's this nutcase of a Security
Chief I'm meant to report to then?"
"I am that nutcase of a Security Chief!" Harris hissed.
Edwards took a closer look of the Major and then commented. "So what
now."
Harris shuck his head, knowing that this one will be trouble. What
was the Blue Dwarf, a dumping ground for the worse of the security
crop in the JMC.
An hour later

Edwards had called together most of the security department, mainly
those that weren't on duty and those that were meant to be on duty
but rarely bothered to turn up.
"There are going to be a few changes around here." Edwards
started. "The first will be a protection policy for the shops and
restaurants on the promenade."
"A protection policy?" Donover enquired.
"Once a week someone from the security department will pay them a
visit, they ask them for some money to make sure that nothing happens
to their propriety. If they refuse something heavy will be thrown
through their window. If for a second week they refuse to pay, well,
accidents will happen." Edwards explained.
There came the sound of a low mummer from the security staff.
Edwards pick up a pile of leaflets and handed them to nearest
security officer then order them to pass them around.
The mummers began to get a little louder as the staff read what was
written on the leaflets.
"Those are the list of changes I will make." Edwards said.
"You want to charge someone for reporting a crime?!" Lloyd said a
little surprised.
"Yep." Edwards answered and then she fixed Lloyd with an evilly cold
stare. "Do you have any problems with it, blondie?!"
"What does Harris think about this?" Another security officer asked.
"Who says he has to know." Edwards said and then she said with an
air of hostility . "So, do we agree with my little changes or do I
have to make myself understood."
Most of the security department nodded in agreement as they no
problems with it, only a few like Donover and Lloyd just look at each
other a little worried.
