Re: Matters of security

Who: Cerebrum, security officers
Where: Psychiatric offices
When: A quarter past angry and ten minutes before mad

Cerebrum watched as the loony bin (what security is known as to
psychiatry) officers removed his equipment for the stupid reason of
returning the equipment to its original owner, then told Lloyd, "You
realize that you'll never be able to convict me if you do arrest me?
There is no person in the universe more capable of pleading insanity
than me. By the time my lawyer arrives, I'll be a raving lunatic and
clearly incapable of standing trial."
He paused for a minute to pop two blue pills in his mouth and then
swallowed them, thus averting a chain of events that would have led
to him trying to carve up the security team with a chainsaw. It also
averted a different chain of events that would have led to him
sticking two bananas in his ears and yelling that he was Napoleon,
but this would have been considered slightly less problematic than
the first one, for some reason.
"Besides, regulations support me on this. Directive 482732145-C. And
I quote, 'A sub-division of the medical department, in the absence of
the Chief Medical Officer, may requisition any equipment from the
medi-bay without filling out a form. This directive may only be used
in an emergency.' Now, by my calculations, ninety-nine percent of the
crew on this vessel are insane and the psychiatric deparment has no
equipment to treat them with. That's an emergency in my book. Some of
these insane people are in security, and therefore normal for their
jobs, but all the others aren't. Now just put all the equipment and
the computer back and we can put an end to this unfortunate incident,
okay?"
