Major Harris 'Ffion, planet of surprises'

Death Wish left the main group to join up with Harris and Lloyd in the hope of pissing one of them off so badly they might kill him. But this wasn't to be as something pulled him under the ground halfway to the other security officers.
"This is ridicules!" Harris shouted thoroughly annoyed. "Lloyd, we're heading back to the ship!"
But no sooner had the Major finished his order than the ground erupted and there was an ear-piecing shriek.
"What the hell!" Lloyd shouted.
The two security officers grabbed at their weapons when what had just erupted out of the ground began to move towards the two.
"Not again!" Harris muttered remembering the overgrown alien snake that tried to sallow Donover on the first away mission.
The form was finally revealed as the sand filled winds dropped a little and the two security officers saw a giant bug the size of a Blue Midget. The bug appeared to be a cross of a cockroach and a mantis, it had six limbs: four legs and set what appeared to be arms that ended with scythe like claws. The bug looked as evil and nightmarish that it could of come straight from hell.
"Major?!" Lloyd shouted.
"FIRE!!" Harris shouted.
The two security officers emptied their weapon's ammo clips only for the rounds to bounce off the bug's dark hind.
Lloyd pulled out a grenade launcher and struggled to load it in the harsh winds.
Harris saw Lloyd about to take with a grenade launcher but it was too late and the bug lurched forward and with one gulp it had swallowed the security officer.
"You spit her out!" Harris yellowed at the bug.
Harris wasn't just about to let an overgrown bug eat his security officer since she was one of his best among the whole security department. Oh for a giant can of bug spray.
The bug shrieked again and began to charge the Major when all of sudden its' abdomen exploded. Bits of bug hind and a vile looking purple liquid went flying and in the centre of small crater sat Lloyd with the smoking grenade launcher in her hands and Death Wish, both soaked to skin in the purple liquid which the sand in the wind began to stick to.
Lloyd spat some of the purple liquid out and moaned. "I hate my life!"
Death Wish was just merely moaning that he was still alive.
Unnoticed the remaining bits of the bug that had remained intact, basically most of the torso, head and the arms stirred into life. It took the bug a moment to figure out that it no longer had an abdomen or legs. It snarled and then dug into and disappeared into the ground.
