Refund
Who: Cerebrum
Where: Medi-bay corrdor
When: Just as White Wolf leaves
Cerebrum was slowly walking, trying to get to the lift, when he saw
White Wolf leave the medi-bay. Cerebrum leaned against a nearby wall,
took his pills out of his pocket with his right hand, seeing how his
left arm didn't appear to be functioning, and looked at them.
"I took two less than half an hour ago and they're already wearing
off? They're suppoused to last for six hours, I want a refund," he
muttered to himself
He then closed his eyes, and prayed that the giant hamster would be
gone when he opened them again. Ten minutes later, he opened his eyes
and it was gone. Cerebrum, being unaware that the hamster was
actually the first officer and had gone to report to the captain,
decided that it was just a minor hallucination started limping
towards the lift.
Later, in the psychiatric offices
[What exactly happened to you?] asked the Appendix as Cerebrum was
trying to put a splint onto his left arm, using some of the equipment
he had swipped, er, borrowed from the medi-bay.
"An elephant ran over me in the hallway," Cerebrum responded, while
he finished attaching the splint. He wasn't sure whether his arm was
broken or not. However, he wasn't about to go down to the medi-bay to
find out, since he didn't trust the people who worked there to put on
a bandage, let along operate an x-ray machine.
[If you don't want to tell me, just say so.] the Appendix thought at
him.
"No, I'm telling the truth. An elephant, even though they're extinct,
ran me over in the medi-bay hallway. I don't know how it got there,
but I think that the science department's been experimenting with
genetic recreating. Read my mind if you don't believe me."
There was a slight pause, as the Appendix probed into Cerebrum's
mind. [You're right, it was an elephant.]
"I told you. Now send in the next patient. I can't take breaks just
because I've been severely injured. There's way too many mentally ill
people on board this ship for me to waste any time."
