A Disturbing Revelation
Who: Cerebrum, appendix
Where: A hallway
When: It is impossible to give an exact time, since when I look at my
watch, the time will have changed in the period it takes the light
particles to strike my eye and be turned into coherent images by my
brain
Cerebrum was walking quickly along a hallway, when he heard a voice
in his head. He quickly paused, took two pills from a small vial in
his shirt pocket and swallowed them. A minute later, when the voice
didn't go away, he realized it was the Appendix.
"Oh," he whispered, "it's you."
[Cerebrum] thought the appendix at him, [I just had a disturbing
conversation with Dr Keto.]
"Dr Keto's in Big Brother. You're not supposed to talk to him.]
[I know that now. Anyway, he stated to me that it was immoral to have
stolen the stuff from the medi-bay and brought it to the psychiatric
division.]
Cerebrum was astounded, "He said I stole that equipment? That is
completely, well partly, untrue. I prefer to think of it as a long
term loan. Besides, regulations say I'm allowed to."
[From what I've heard if you search in the regulations long enough
you can get permission to do anything.]
"That has nothing to do with what I'm talking about. I assure you
that I was completely justified in taking the equipment."
[Then why did security come looking for it.]
"I know their type, they were just looking for someone weak to pick
on."
[Keto also implied that it was wrong for you to have taken his
computer.]
"Of course it's not wrong. There's an ancient rule that applies to
this that I made up last week. If a psychiatrist (namely Dr Patrick
Cerebrum) needs something to advance his research, he should receive
it. Dr Keto is a self-serving anarchist if he refuses to abide by
this rule. Anyway, if all goes well, within the hour I'll be able to
acquire all the equipment and computers I need and then I'll return
that other stuff to the medi-bay. Just tell me where Shakesphere is?"
[He's on the promenade. Why?]
"Because he's going to be responsible for me acquiring the
aforementioned equipment. Bye."
Cerebrum headed towards the promenade, ready to help a poor man who
had lost his memories and to gain control of the medi-bay's budget,
not necessarily in that order.
