The Green Stuff
Chuck sat up. As soon as his vision cleared he took a
look around him.
"Where am I?" he thought. Then he remembered he had
drunk that wierd green stuff he had found in the cargo
hold to celebrate the captain not knowing about his
G.O.D. He must have collapsed. How long had he been
down here? He checked the clock on the wall next to
him. He had been down here for a week! He got to his
feet, rubbed off the dust that had gathered on him and
wandered down the corridor of boxes he appered to be
in. on his way back to his quarters he noticed about a
hundred yards in front of him that a panel was loose.
He wandered towards it. The panel had been hastily
sealed with some kind of sealing substance. He had no
idea what it was. The "sealer" hadn't been very
careful in applying the substance and one of the
corners had not been done properly. He managed to get
a grip on the tiny piece of the bodged corner. He
pulled. It didn't budge. Even though chuck was
relatively strong man he could not pull the panel off.
This strange substance was goddam strong.
As the JMC were so tight, the panels were not exactly
made of the most expensive material available, and so
were probably weaker than bog roll. Fortunately Chuck
knew this as he had spent many of the dull evenings on
board the Dwarf reading up on the JMC and ship
building.
He decided that he was too tired to do anything now so
he would come back tomorrow to see what was behind
that panel. Someone had tried their damned hardest to
seal that wall up so there must be something imprtant
back there. Hell, he might even be able to get some
money out of it. He could then, of course, pay back
the little smeg that was black mailing him, and still
have some drinking money left!!!
