Re: [JMC_Blue_Dwarf] Re: Battle Plan
Fingers laid in the access vent above Dirk Bell's room listening in
to everything that was being said. He was on his way to somewhere
else at the time but when he heard these two jokers talking he choose
to listen in to what they talking about.
If only I could get a hold of that tape, Fingers throught to himself,
may he could get himself from freedom back from Harris. He be able
to steal what and when he wanted. The thief began to try to form a
plan, would the jokers be brainless enough to leave the tape in the
room when they left. Wait a sodding minute, Walker hadn't even left
the room for most of the day.
What to do, what to do? Fingers throught to himself.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Something had moved in the corner of Dirk's eye. He dared not look directly at
it, that would give him away. Something was there alright, in the vent. "Tell
you what, Dren," he spoke in a clear and loud voice. "Let's go to the
engineering department and see if we can find some spare parts to start our
little project." Dirk reached for the tape, which Dren was not yet ready to
part with, grabbed it, and set it on the table in the room. As he set it down,
Dirk flipped a switch on a black box next to the tape. This action was
completely concealed by his body. "It'll be safe here," he reassured Dren while
pushing the over the edge technician out of the door.
As soon as the door shut, Fingers was out of the vent and almost to the desk.
As he reached for the tape, he noticed a glow coming from the black box. It was
just too much for a thief to resest. Fingers curiously picked up the box. When
he did, an arch of electricity flowed through his body from the box. As hard as
the crook tried, he just couldn't let go of it. All he could do was scream as
the current stopped and he fell to the floor.
Dirk and Dren reentered the room. Dren immediately snatched up the tape. Dirk
flipped the switch on the box again and set it back on the table. "Well, well.
What do we have here? Alright, Jackass, who are you; and what are you doing
here?"
Fingers stuttered his answer. He didn't think at all about secrecy or
espionage. He only thought about answering what he was asked and about the blue
electricity that had covered his body just moments ago.
"FFFFFFFFFingggggggerrrrrsssss. Ststststeeeeaaalliing fffffffor
HHHHHHaarrrrrriiissss.....tttttaaaappppeee," he pointed at the tape Dren was
cradleing and even kissing from time to time.
"So. Another one of Harris's Goon Squad, eh? Holly!"
"Yes, Bell."
"Who is this guy? I've never seen him with the other security apes."
"That's because he's not one of the security team. He's a thief that Harris let
loose during the Evil Phil episode."
"A thief! So Harris let loose a criminal, eh? This is getting better and
better."
"What do you mean?" Dren asked, as if suddenly coming out of a daze.
"We've go more evidence against Harris. Plus, I doubt that he'll go around
admitting that he let a crook loose on the Dwarf to run free. Which means that
he won't be too upset if this guy never turns up, it'll just be another
forgotten incident that no one knows about."
"What are we going to do? We can't keep him here. And we sure can't give him
up to security. Harris will just bury the guy's existence if we do that."
"I've got an idea. Where's Darla?" Dren walked over to the locker and produced
his inflatable friend.
An hour later Dirk and Dren were seen walking down the corridors of the Blue
Dwarf with Darla in between them. Darla looked bigger than normal, but most
people didn't notice because they wouldn't dare look in that direction. Even on
the Blue Dwarf, somethings are just too weird. "I hate doing this to you
Darla," Dren said.
"It's the only way to get him from the room to a good hiding place without
anyone seeing."
"I just feel so cheap using Darla like this. Like a pimp or something. He
should never have been aloud to touch her, much less this."
"Dren."
"Yeah, Dirk?"
"She's plastic."
"Insensitive bastard."
The three arrived at their destination. The stasis chambers. They set the
Fingers filled Darla into one of the chambers and shut it. Dirk punched on the
keypad to the main stasis terminal. A large lead shield dropped around it with
a painted message on the outside. Quarantined. "That takes care of the matter
of our crook for the time being. Let's go get a beer." The two walked to
Parrotts.
