glow in the dark

Alota and Jay where sat around the table with there drinks, talking when the lights started flickering, then they just stopped flickering and went out completely.
"Great" Alota sighed,
"Just perfect" she then looked around and noticed a glowing coming from the floor. It took her a while to actually realise that the glowing was coming from Jay.
"Um Jay, why are your shins glowing?"
"It's not my fault the ointment Tara gave me is making them glow"
"Well in a way it's kind of good cause we can get out of Parrots using your shins"
"Hey that's not funny"
"Who's laughing". Jay started to get up, the purple light beung emitted from his shins highlighted the furniture basking it in a soft purple glow. Jay quickly moved towards the exit doors without bumping into anything (luckily). Jay opened the doors to find that only Parrots had gone without power so the soft light from the corridor flooded into the darkened room. Alota and everyone else quickly scurried out.
