Kayn joins the asteroid shooting team and farsees his future

For the first time in days, Kayn was ACTUALLY QUIET!!
 
Nipels didn't complain - none of the crew did. They actually appreciated Kayn being dumb...but it was still clinging to thier minds WHY Kayn was shutting up...
The truth was that Kayn was mortified by the past day's activities. He'd been down in the Science labs when the probe was uncovered... and he felt it... a lump settling in the back of his throat...
 
He knew he would be one of the unlucky idiots to set foot on Red Dwarf before the radiation leak had cleared up...
 
He'd be a pile of dust within a month or two...
He was going to DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
 
He'd asked the ships computer to send EVERY bit of information he could pick up about this predicament...And there was a lot
 
Kayn read it all in one night - Suprisingly, Kayn did a lot of work whilst not talking.
 
A Day Later
Nipel's Office
 
"Your signing up for the asteroid team?" asked Nipels with worry
"Yes sir...I'd really like to go up there" said Kayn, a bit less chirpier than the day before
"But why?" asked Nipels
"I've found out a lot of stuff...about the future and stuff from Holly. If I'm right...due to the stuff that the crew of Red Dwarf 3 million years from now is supposedly true...I should be able to guaruntee that the Starbug won't crash, and Blue Dwarf won't be destroyed, thanks to the fact that the future can not be changed"
That was the most Kayn had said for twenty-four hours. Seymore didn't understand it all...He lost it as soon as he said 'Red', and caught up as soon as the word 'twenty' was mentioned...still, volunteers were volunteers... he wrote Kayn's name on the very empty list of suicidal ops for the clearing of the asteroid belt
