Allie looked up and saw Phil standing outside her
door. Her whole face lit up. "Phil," she breathed.
"I'm so glad you came, and I say that with absolute
honesty."
Phil didn't looked convinced. "I'm sure."
Allie wiped the sweat from her forehead, her
normally bright eyes dark and stormy. "I know you
don't like me. I'm sure you hate me for everything
I've done. I would hate you if I was in the same
position you're in, but I've decided to make peace."
"Peace?"
She nodded. "Yes. To be honest, I was jealous. So
enraged that you, a hologram, could find someone you
loved." Her eyes dropped. "I wish I could have someone
that loved me. But I don't nor won't, so I hate
everyone." Her eyes returned to his face. "But I swear
that if you fix me, I'll be eternally grateful and
you'll never have to worry about me again. Tara
either," she added quickly.
Phil stared at her for a bit.
Allie cocked her head. "I promise, Phil."
"Well..."
"Cross my heart and hope to, uh.." Allie trailed
off, "have my light bee burn out."
