"You have better have a damm good reason for being in my cupboard you little
oik." bellowed the hologram. "If I don't like the answer I'm given, then you
are going to see how long a human can be kept alive in a industrial size
microwave with the power cranked up from "Normal" to "Cook." to "Better just
sweep up the remains pal" Comprende?"
Steev finished blinking and opened his mouth...this had better be something
special....
"OK, you want to know what happened? I'll tell you. It all started in the
engine room. I had just fixed the engines and was feeling pretty pleased
with myself, when an engineer attacked me! He hit me on the head with a
spanner, when suddenly..."
Steev paused as he tried to fill in the gaps.
"..suddenly I changed completely, into a sort of alter-ego, the Super
Engineer. instead of crumpling to the floor in a heap I turn round, and fix
the engineer one hell of a weird grin. I start chanting "fix the hurty
problemmmmm!!!!" over and over again, pick up the engineer, take a 3/8ths
gripley, steel pipes, a 34F and a blowtorch, and set to work on his
genitals! In a couple of minutes he had been grafted to the engine housing,
providing some excellent ablative armour while...'damaging' the engineer."
"So that's done, and then I somehow revert back to normal, with this big
smegging lump on my head. I needed something to help it, so I staggered to
the medical bay and swiped a couple of weird pills. All of a sudden, I'm
happy! Reeeeeeeeally happy! I start cartwheeling through the ship. I
backflip into this room, whereupon I see this computer, which promptly tried
to sell me Bliss, whatever that is. In my state I divulge my entire
compendium of engineering lore, and the thing starts snoring!"
"Still in my happy mood, I'm about to give it a banana milkshake, when some
guy walks past, and slings a bottle into the room. It clangs off my head
and spins me straight into the cupboard."
"I think that's about it...do I get to live, sir?"
