I'll explain some of the reasoning for why I'm running this
specific scenarios as I am, to help clear up this nitpicking.
First off, In Allie's case, WW & Dirk are working from the
knowledge that there's a SMALL gas leak from her light bee, *NOT* a
large one yet. Remember, as characters, thier not omnipotent, they
don't have the complete knowledge of what's going on that *we do*
from reading Allie's posts, they only have knowledge of what they've
discovered so far. And so - thier merely going on the *assumption*
that her gas venting *could* get worse, and thus wish to take
preventative measures. Plus, at this point, WW saw no need to create
unneccesary panic, because the evidence hadn't warranted it yet. I
think everybody realises, that alerting everybody about every
*potential* disaster situation would make such warnings happen nearly
everyday, and thus would be entirely useless. (Believe me, I've
worked with a crisis control center before while volunteering for
various activities such as storm chasing. And this is how they do
some of their decision making in real life... and the general public
often never really knows how many potential disasters *could have*
happened on a daily basis. Besides, It would probably ruin the fabric
of society if people did.)
Secondly, WW is using tact, because he knows if he makes an
alert announcement on the Blue Dwarf about EP, he'll only make things
worse. Because as it is now, EP thinks he can still get away with
stuff because of his relative atonimony, but if he's announced as
a 'known fugitive' on the other hand, EP will just esculate and
become more desparate and dangerous.

I think somebody else said this, But I'll cover it in detail so
everyone understands this point - How often do you actively
investigate what your local police are doing whenever they pull up to
someones place next door? Ever notice that once the novelty of it has
worn off, that it simply shifts to a "it's somebody else's problem"
factor in human experience? The fact is, people generally aren't too
concerned about what doesn't directly concern them. So it wouldn't be
any different on the Blue Dwarf. In fact, several people would
already be pretty jaded from seeing the various things that Harris's
security team has done.
So seeing four security officers going around with gas masks *might*
be notable, But only if that was the first time someone ever saw
that. But for all anyone knows, the officers could be merely
fishing 'Fingers' out of the bog! {Come to think of it, I just gave
Harris a really nice leaping off point there - He could write up a
funny subplot explaining why Fingers was being fished out...}
