"Her name is..... Margery"
 
The figure who called himself Darren stepped back into the shadows and was gone, leaving Niples alone.
 
The commander walked back to the more popular part of the station and walked to the docking port where the Blue Dwarf was docked.
 
Walking onto the Dwarfstar mining ship he caught the lift down to the science labs.
As he walked into the clean room he allowed his nose to get used to the smell before he continued. He found the Chief science officer Larry Rongside and approached him.
 
"Mr. Rongside, I think we have a problem..."
Larry looked puzzled. "What problem?"
"Major Harris has gone missing."
Larry looked even more confused, he thought about Harris and the reason why everyone called him 'nutter'. "Why's that a problem?" he asked.
The commander smiled, it was true that nobody really liked Harris- but he wasn't about to leave one of his crewmen to be eaten by a genetically engineered chicken. Besides, he might even get a medal.
"I think he has been kidnapped by a....a....creature."
This caught Larry's attention, as well as everyone else in the science lab- finally was this something exciting for them to investigate? a space creature? an alien life form?
"it's a chicken." said Niples.
"A chicken?"
"A large chicken." said Niples. "It lives on the station somewhere, it's already killed lots of scientists- and I want you to find out more data about it."
"I'll get right on it sir." said Larry, a bit anxious about the 'killing scientists' part. "but....er... is it safe?" he said.
 
"I'll arrange for a security team to go over there with you for your protection, I'll talk to Donover and..." he was interupted by a voice from his walkie-talkie. It was someone from the flight deck.
 
"Somebody just arrived by shuttle. He said his name is....Doom Harbinger. He's a new security officer and he wants to talk to Major Harris..."
"Tell him Major Harris is unavailable at the moment, and send him to the science lab."
"ok sir." said the voice for the walkie-talkie. 
 
Niples turned away from Lieutenant Rongside and saw Phill FeBuggure sat in his office messing around with stress levels inflicted on an elastic band. Phil was their resident inventor and gadgets expert. Seymour entered his office and Phil immediately sat up straight when he noticed the officer.
 
Niples explained the same thing to Phil as he had told Larry, and then told him that he wanted Phil to invent some device to scan for the creature and to pinpoint its position.
 
After that, Niples decide to leave the science lab before Doom turned up. By the sounds of it, Doom was a bit of a creepy guy and the commander really didn't want to meet him at this moment.
 
Niples also arranged for the chief Doctor Sydney Van Threk to join the science and security team who were going to look for the creature.
 
Then Niples headed to the officer's lounge to have a drink.
