Katrina + Niples "What's that in the air?"

Katrina SweteHer quarters------------------------------------------------------Katrina picked up PITA and snuggled the boy (she officially checked). Thekitten meowed. he seemed so happy to finally be out of quarantine.Katrine kissed the top of the cat's head. "Today is the day, baby," she toldher kitten. "I'm going to tell Seymour I love him and I want to be with himforever and ever. I don't know how he'll react, but I think he won't be tooshocked. He seems to notice me more now that we're working together." She putthe cat down and left the room-------------------------------------------------------Captain Niples' Office-------------------------------------------------------Katrina watched Dirk leave Seymour's office. He seemes upset, almost in arage. Oh well, Katrina didn't care. She had her own business to take care of.She poked her head in. "Are you decent?" she joked.Seymour smiled and waved her in. Katrina sat down across from him and smiled."How are you?""Fine," he answered. "How's are you and your cat?""We're both fabulous,' she admitted.She sighed. Seymour waited patiently."I have something to tell you," she finally said.The Captain's pleasant face fell. "Is something wrong with Nemesis?""No, not at all," Katrina insisted."What then? You okay?""Yes, I'm fine, but I'll feel a whole lot better once I tell you," shegulped. She paused, unable to speak. "I...." she started."Yes?"Katrina gulped again. Her stomach was in knots."I love you."Seymour stared at her. "Huh?""I love you. I'm absolutely mad for you and I have been since we were almostkilled by Cannon," she blurted out."So, whaddya think?" she asked after a long pause.
Seymour was speechless. Very speechless. He mouthed a few things but nothing came out, he sat down and tried again.
"I.....I... I...never noticed.... How stupid I feel now- I missed all of the signs! Yes, it seems so obvious now, I'm such a fool!"
 
Katrina smiled and crouched over his desk. "And that's why I love you" she said and moved her helf closer to him. At first Seymour wondered why and then he felt his body moving closer to her.
 
Their lips met and they kissed for a few seconds then they parted. Katrina looked into Seymour's eyes, and although he never said how he felt- his feelings shone through his pupils as clear as space. They both grinned like children and kissed again, this time it was longer and Seymour leaned over his desk to get closer to her. Burning his groin on his lava-lamp, but he didn't care. He loved Katrina too, although he hadn't realised it until this very moment.
 
"Ever since we were almost killed by Cannon?" enquired Niples. Moving around the desk.
Katrina put her arm under his overjacket and around him. "Yup." she said, smiling.
 
Niples nodded, although there had been so many times he couldn't remember.
 
"Shall we go somewhere and talk?" he enquired, holding her closer. "Theres do much we don't know about each other.... and then we can find a Starbug with a big back seet!" he joked.
She punched him playfully. "Kayn and jay parked all the Starbugs outside, I don't do spacewalks on a first date!"
 
They walked out of the office humming the tune "love is in the air".
