Something Scare This Way Comes

Cass smirked and glanced around, looking for Jade, but not seeing her anywhere “I guess that might explain the weird cyclone that hit us out near that pyramid we found – It was probably the backwash from the ‘bugs engines”
“Pyramid?” Jamie asked sharply
“Yeah, big weird looking stone thing” Cass shrugged “Why?”
Jamie related the contents of the message that Eve had found in the bottle to no little disquiet amongst the assembled crew
“Weird” Molly breathed when he was done “This place is definitely not inhabited right?”
“No, not at all” Artemis sloshed around in his tank “Holly was positive about... Yes, what is it dear?” he asked as the ‘missus’ shot down the Starbug’s main access ramp gesticulating wildly with 'her' claw
“No, no... Slow down dear”
It took a moment before he could make any sense of his wife’s frantic gesticulations
“I... Oh, my science! – Yes, yes, right away!” he span back to the assembled crew, his brain inside the tank struggling to keep up with the sudden movement “One of my babies has gone missing!” he gasped “Please comrades, I need your help!”
With faultless dramatic timing, the air was suddenly split with the plaintive staccato bark of an unseen animal, not far away, out in the jungle...

Meanwhile Evelina had been collecting more firewood while Jamie and Herbie were trying to fix the Starbug. Evelina couldn't believe that Jay and Phil were that crazy as to risk their lives and the only way back to the Dwarf for some insane water skiing. As Evelina looked up in the sky she thought of her Jaxx sitting in despair in front of the Tele. Evelina thought to herself, "Don't worry Jaxx I'll find a way to get you back and make it all better, even if I have to learn science." Evelina looked at the golden moon in the sky and sighed as she missed her Jaxx. Suddenly her attention was broken as she heard a noise in the distant. Evelina was a bit nervous as she realized the noise was coming from the opposite side of the camp. A nervous feeling raced through Evelina's spine as she felt something was coming towards her. Evelina quickly crouched and picked up as good sized stick to defend herself with.

As the noise came closer Evelina began to nervously sweat and shake in fear. The noise became louder as it got closer towards her and she could hear a low growl. A sense of fear raced through Evelina's body as she just wanted to run to the crew, but she knew if she did something bad would happen like getting attacked as she leads her stalker to the crew. Evelina began to cry as she wished her Jaxx was there to protect her. Suddenly Evelina noticed out of the corner of her eye that there was a small one foot tall, brown fuzzy creature that was snared in some kind of plant trap. It looked tired and weak as it looked at Evelina with its sad three eyes. Out of sympathy Evelina freed the small creature and tried to shoo it away from the scary noise approaching.

The little creature looked at Evelina and then at the approaching noise as it tried to make sense of what was happening. Then the little fuzzy creature began blinking its third eye which was on a tentacle protruding from the top of it head. Evelina was confused by the little creature as she was both scared and confused. Then from out of nowhere Evelina was quickly pulled back several feet then smothered all over by several of the small little fuzzy creatures. Evelina was scared but couldn't move or make a sound in her position. Then the approaching noise emerged from the shadows to look where she was standing before. The large shadow like creature inspected the area and saw the trap was empty. After looking around the area it growled. Evelina could have sworn it looked right at her and the fuzzy creatures but didn't do anything. Out of disgust the tentacled shadowed monster went back the way it came.

Evelina was sweating bullets as the monster left. After the danger was passed Evelina fainted from exhaustion. Once it was gone the little fuzzy creatures picked Eve up and carried her off deeper into the woods.
