Broken Loose

“PLLLLLIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSS SSSSSSSSSSSSSKKKKKKKKK KKKKKKKKKKEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNN NNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!” The Angel roared. He swooped down after him, but he had gone. Entirely… Gone.
He flew back up, shaking with holy rage.
“WHY MUST YOU TAKE EVERYONE I HOLD DEAR?” He cried, addressing the Dark God, the virus which had yet to fully show itself.
“You will regret having taken Plisken from us.” He informed thin air, his voice quiet yet somehow carrying, echoing strongly throughout the jagged-edged chasm and the lands beyond.
There was an awful, terrible, make-your-ears-want-to-retract kind of laughter from below, and then a gigantic, multi tentacled beast rose up.
“Oh my Science…” The Ubermensch took a step back. “… The Kraken…”
“Smeggin’ great.” Mumbled the angel. Somehow able to curse again. The Ubermensch flicked him a worried look. “You just glitched partially into your normal self.” The Angel shuddered involuntarily.
The Kraken flopped out of the chasm and screamed, blowing their respective hair and wings in a gale of horrific fish-breath. The Angel retched. The scream stopped but the gale continued, a powerful cyclone was beginning to whip around the castle.
“The others!” Cried Artie in the sudden rumbling noise which was coming from the Kraken’s stomach. “We need to get back to the others!”
“But Plisken!” There were tears in the angel’s eyes, whether it was for the loss of his friend, or due to the gross breath, Artie couldn’t tell.
“He’s gone!”
They began pelting towards the castle, and thundered back into the first of Robotnik’s rooms. The others were still battling away with the evil contraptions.
Suddenly Robotnik was there again, on his throne. Artie and the Angel exchanged a glance. “What!?”
The Hulk roared and the Angel glowered. They’d both been engaged in battle with Robotnik before, as their normal selves. It was quite chilling to see him in person – not as a cartoonish character but the live-action version. If you looked closely, you could see the remnants of dinner in his bristly moustache.
However, Robotnik wasn’t the problem, for the throne rose up.
“The Kraken is coming, the Kraken is coming…” Artie started trying to tell the others, as he heard an unpleasant squelching behind them.
But they were all transfixed on Robotnik’s throne. It lifted high into the air, atop… something their eyes couldn’t yet adjust to.
Then… they did. The reason they hadn’t adjusted, was because it was too vast for them to initially comprehend.
“The Kraken…” squeaked Artie, now in a shocked sort of auto pilot.
“The Kraken?” Replied the vast monster, Robotnik his crown… “The Kraken is merely my pet.”
“Oh crap. I think we found the virus.” Said Jacky.
The Iron Man nodded. “… Cthulu…” he whispered hoarsely. His helmet adding eerie effect to the strained vocalisation.
